The Biden administration is considering processing Haitian migrants at Guantanamo Bay if there is a mass exodus fleeing the gang-fuelled violence. The White House is discussing the plans amid fears thousands could try and reach the U.S. to escape the Caribbean nation on the brink of collapse. Haitians would be processed on the base 200 miles from Haiti in a center separate to Camp X, where terrorist suspects are held, CNN reported. The Department of Homeland Security says migration from the island being overtaken by gangs is so far low. But there are concerns hoards could get on boats to try and make the crossing to Florida. As a result, Ron DeSantis has announced plans to send over 250 additional soldiers - and a fleet of aircraft and boats - to 'protect' Florida from vessels.

Former President Donald Trump cut a defiant figure Thursday, raising a fist through the window of his armored car as he arrived at a Florida courthouse for the latest hearing in the classified documents case. He stands accused of hoarding government files at his Mar-a-Lago estate after he left the White House and then obstructing efforts to recover them. Trump arrived after a series of legal wins in other cases. On Wednesday, a judge in Georgia threw out six charges in a wide-ranging conspiracy case against Trump and his allies connected to their efforts to overturn the 2020 election result.

Donald Trump said he's already ruled some possible vice presidential contenders because they haven't 'behaved properly' and then bragged he could have anyone he wants on his ticket, including a Democrat. Dozens of names have been batted about as possible contenders for Trump's presidential ticket. And Trump himself has mentioned several names he's considering with his favorites rolling up and down in order like a roller coaster. However, he did tell Newsmax host Greg Kelly that he's ruled some out, even though he declined to say who.

The House passed a bill that could ban TikTok if Chinese parent company ByteDance does not divest from the popular app, setting up a crucial vote in the Senate. The House passed the bill Wednesday morning in a bipartisan vote.  Now, senators will decide whether the national security threat posed by TikTok is worth the headache from constituents who love the app, and have been calling lawmakers nonstop asking them to vote against the measure. 

Arkansas Republican Sen. Tom Cotton is demanding the Pentagon disclose information on its contract with a Chinese-owned tutoring company that has access to U.S. military family data. Tutor.com, a popular tutoring website, is owned by Primavera Holdings Limited, a firm run by Chinese nationals that also holds stakes in TikTok parent company ByteDance and e-commerce giant Alibaba.  The site offers tutoring services to the U.S. military and school districts around the country.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee wrote Wednesday in an order that six of the charges in the indictment must be quashed, including three against Trump. But the order leave intact many other charges in the indictment and the judge wrote that prosecutors could seek a new indictment on the charges he dismissed. The six charges in question have to do with soliciting elected officials to violate their oaths of office. That includes two charges related to Trump's infamous phone call to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a fellow Republican, on Jan. 2, 2021 asking him to 'find' 11,780 votes.

Hunter Biden is refusing to testify at a public impeachment hearing led by House Republicans next week, as his attorney slams it as a 'circus act.' Last week, House Republicans invited Hunter and several of his ex-business partners to testify at the same impeachment hearing setting up a public spectacle later this month. Abbe Lowell, Hunter's attorney, wrote to Chairman James Comer Wednesday, saying the invitation is 'not a serious oversight proceeding.'

Former special counsel Robert Hur will give high-stakes testimony on Capitol Hill on Tuesday on his devastating classified documents report that painted President Joe Biden as 'elderly' and 'forgetful' and with 'diminished faculties'.  Hur was appointed special counsel by Attorney General Merrick Garland in January 2022 to investigate the president's handling of classified files based on a range of areas including Afghanistan. Hur left the Justice Department on Monday and will testify as a private citizen, a DOJ spokesperson confirmed to DailyMail.com. 

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is interested in having NFL star Aaron Rodgers or ex-wrestler Jesse 'The Body' Ventura as his vice presidential pick. The New York Times reported Tuesday that Kennedy approached both Rodgers and Ventura, a former governor of Minnesota, about appearing on his ticket, sources told the paper.

Jim Jordan that 'pride and money' motivated Biden to keep sensitive files, because he used some of the materials for a memoir that earned him $8million. In a tense exchange with Rep. Pramila Jayapal over whether his damning report cleared Biden, Hur said: 'I did not exonerate him'.

President Joe Biden's $7.3 trillion budget includes $11.8 billion in border spending and $850 billion for the Pentagon as it seeks to use the proposal to make the case to voters to give the president a second term. The White House plans to pay for its ambition agenda - which includes $3 billion for climate change resilience - by imposing about $5 trillion in new taxes on corporations and the wealthy over a decade.  The president's plan would raise taxes by a net total of $4.9 trillion, or more than 7% above what the U.S. would collect. Meanwhile, Americans earning less than $400,000 a year would get tax cuts totaling $750 billion. And those earning above $400,000 a year would see increased taxes on the wages, investment gains and self-employment income.

That came in response to a question in a gaggle with reporters after Biden said he 'shouldn't have used illegal, it's undocumented.' Hungary 's strongman leader Viktor Orban revealed intimate details surrounding his controversial visit with Donald Trump in Mar-a-Lago over the weekend, including how the ex-president plans to 'end the war' in Ukraine. In an interview with Pravda.ru, Orban claimed that Trump had a specific plan to end the bloodshed that involves putting a stop to all US funding for the Ukrainian war effort. 'Donald Trump has a very clear vision that is hard to disagree with. He says the following: 'First, he will not give a single penny for the Russo/Ukrainian war,' Orban, a long time ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin .

Now it appears Biden and Trump are headed for another head-to-head matchup in North Carolina where Trump pulled out a razor-thin victory in 2020 but other Democrats won statewide down ballot, and this go round it is still a battleground in play for the taking. In the Republican presidential primary on Tuesday, Trump clobbered opponent Nikki Haley with more than 73 percent of the vote. Some 790,000 voters came out to cast ballots for the embattled former president who swept every county. Haley received just over 23 percent of the vote, but nearly 250,000 North Carolinians came out to support her. In the Democratic presidential primary, Biden won 87 percent, more than 606,000 votes. But some 88,000 voters - 12 percent - who cast ballots in the Democratic primary voted 'no preference' in the contest.

His son, Kareem, was killed by a suicide bomber during the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. After yelling at Biden from the guest seating, Nikoui was removed from the chamber by Capitol Police and later arrested. But the arrest did not last long. Video posted of Nikoui after the State of the Union around 1:00 a.m. shows him entering an Irish pub to loud applause after the lawmaker who brought him, Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fla., helped secure his release.

Some callers are just hanging up as soon as they get an answer, only concerned with accessing the app. Republicans say the flood of calls is down to TikTok lobbying its users. Some see alert on the app with an option to call their local member of Congress, based on the zip code they are in.

The result in D.C. comes one day after Trump's clean sweep of GOP primaries in Idaho, Michigan and Missouri on Saturday as he inches closer to a rematch with Biden in November. Trump and Haley were vying for the district's coveted 19 Republican delegates - out of 2,429 total to the Republican National Convention in July - in the race that came down to the wire. D.C. was seen as Haley's best shot at beating Trump in any primary race as the former president is expected to sweep the 15 upcoming Super Tuesday states.

Donald Trump has cruised past rival Nikki Haley to win Republican caucuses in Idaho, Michigan and Missouri bringing him another step closer to a rematch with Joe Biden come November. In Idaho, where 32 delegates were up for grabs on Saturday, the former president dominated throughout caucus locations across the state. In Michigan, Trump trounced Haley in all 13 districts taking part in the nominating caucuses, the second part of the state's nominating process. The two contests add to an earlier win in Missouri, where the race was called at 11:40 am, less than two hours after the gatherings began.

On Tuesday, Donald Trump and Nikki Haley will go to battle on the biggest election day of the Republican primary. Thousands of voters from 15 states will head to the polls for what has been known since the 1970s as 'Super Tuesday'. For Republicans 874 delegates will be decided, about one third of the total, and a large chunk of the 1,215 a candidate needs to clinch the party's presidential nomination. Normally the day is full of twists and turns, but this year the results could be decided early on as Trump continues full steam to a likely general election rematch with Biden in November.

The embattled Fulton County District Attorney stunned the hearing by sitting behind the prosecution's table and rocking her chair back and forth as she listened to Judge Scott McAfee hinting he was ready to decide whether to kick her off the trial. Attorneys for Trump's co-defendants insist she should be barred from prosecuting the ex-president because she hired Wade after they started an 'improper' romantic relationship. If she is booted from the case, it could delay Trump's Georgia election fraud case for months and could even lead to the charges being dropped. Defense lawyers said bombshell texts proved she lied about when she started dating Wade and accused of playing the 'race card' when she said the allegations against her with politically motivated. Lawyers kicked off closing arguments on Friday after a series of blockbuster court sessions where Willis testified there was nothing improper about her relationship with Wade and defended paying for their lavish trips abroad in cash.

James Biden insisted his brother Joe did not ever meet with his and Hunter's Chinese business associates but disclosed he used money made from foreign deals to pay back a loan he owed the now-president, according to new testimony made public on Friday.  The younger Biden brother, 74, sat for hours last week as lawmakers on the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees questioned him behind closed doors as part of their impeachment inquiry into Joe, 81. They are working to uncover whether Joe was involved in his family's shady business dealings with foreigners that netted them over $20 million. GOP lawmakers allege that Joe got paid directly from his brother who used their last name to 'open doors' and opportunities to enrich the family. 

Trump arrived at a Florida courthouse in time for a 10 am hearing where Judge Aileen Cannon is setting a schedule that could put him on trial this summer over classified documents held at Mar-a-Lago. Special Counsel Jack Smith proposed a July trial date. Trump's team, which said he can't get a fair trial this year, countered with August.

Hunter Biden in his full testimony before GOP impeachment investigators frequently blamed his addiction and suggested he was too high to recall certain events as he admitted at one point he tried to kill himself 'on a daily basis.' Hunter, 54, spend six hours on Capitol Hill Wednesday answering questions about his father Joe Biden's involvement in his foreign businesses as part of the Republican-led impeachment inquiry.

President Joe Biden called on Donald Trump to work with him on border security instead of 'playing politics.' He told his likely rival in the 2024 presidential race that they work for the American people.  Biden was in Brownsville, Texas, to tour the border and call on House Republicans to pass a bipartisan border security bill already approved by the Senate. Trump, who was conducting his own tour of the border in Eagle Pass has opposed the legislation. 

President Joe Biden met with border agents at the Rio Grande on Thursday during his visit to the southern border as Donald Trump got his own tour 324 miles away. The president's motorcade drove along the 20-foot fence separating the United States and Mexico before his meeting with U.S. Custom and Border Patrol agents.  As the president was given a tour of the migrant crossing area, security was tight. A boat was in the water, trucks and ATVs surrounded the area, and a drone flew overhead. Nearby, cars flying Trump flags were parked where Biden could see them. At the airport, the president was greeted with protesters demanding a cease fire in Gaza.

Bradley, Wade's former divorce attorney and law partner, took the stand Tuesday, where he was shown a series of text messages in which he spoke about the timeline of Willis and Wade's relationship - one of the central issues of the trial. Michael Roman and other co-defendants in Trump's case are seeking for District Attorney Fanni Willis, 53, to be disqualified over what they term was an 'improper' relationship. The full extent of the messages, which count in the hundreds, were revealed by The Megyn Kelly Show Wednesday.

The Supreme Court announced Wednesday that it will decide if Donald Trump is immune from prosecution his federal election interference case – on a timetable that keeps his trial on hold for months. The high court announced in a brief ruling that it would hear oral arguments in the case during the week of April 22, and keep Trump's January 6 case being tried in Washington, DC paused until then. It is hearing the case in an expedited fashion, setting up back-and-forth legal briefs between Trump's lawyers and the government this month. But just by agreeing to take the case the court pushed back Trump's case at least until the summer. It means the trial could be delayed by months, even if the former president loses, and if he wins the charges will be dismissed. In a single-page writ for what would be a historic ruling, the court said it woudl consider 'Whether and if so to what extent does a former president enjoy presidential immunity from criminal prosecution for conduct alleged to involve official acts during his tenure in office.' 

President Joe Biden's 2024 physical remained largely unchanged from last year, with his White House doctor saying there are 'no new concerns' and labeling the 81-year-old 'fit to serve.' The White House released the results of Biden's physical late Wednesday afternoon, after he took Marine One to Bethesda earlier this morning to get the annual exam done.

A tearful Mitch McConnell has announced he will be stepping down as the longest-serving Senate leader in history and admitted 'father time remains undefeated.'  The Republican senator, who turned 82 last week, choked up on the Senate floor as he revealed he will leave the position he's served in for almost 18 years in November after a 'painful time' that included the death of his sister-in-law. McConnell has battled constant calls to step down in recent months over his support for sending more aid to Ukraine and is the last member of the Republican leadership not to have endorsed Donald Trump's 2024 presidential bid.

Hunter Biden will have a public hearing after his closed-door deposition revealed 'many discrepancies' about Joe's involvement in his son's shady business deals, says top Republican James Comer.  Comer, R-Ky., who chairs the House Oversight Committee, is leading the investigation into whether Joe Biden used his position and 'brand' to enrich his family in a complex $20 million 'influence peddling' scheme. He told reporters that Hunter's six-hour deposition 'proved' bits of evidence Republicans had been investigating.

President Joe Biden will go through his long-awaited physical exam as concerns grow about the 81-year-old's health and fitness for a second term. The White House has faced constant questions over when Biden, the oldest president in history, would receive his annual test ahead of the November 2024 election. And on Wednesday morning he made the unscheduled trip to submit a bill of health before his likely rematch with Donald Trump . 'I'm going to Walter Reed to get my physical', Biden told reporters as he walked across the South Lawn to Marine One. Polls showing a majority of Americans think he is too old to run again for president and doesn't have the mental acuity for a second term, which would finish when he is 86 years old. White House physician Kevin O'Connor said Biden's gait ' remains stiff' during his exam in February last year , but cleared him as 'healthy' and 'vigorous'.

More than 100,000 voters in the the battleground state had voted in protest against Biden's stance on Israel's conflict as of Wednesday morning. In Dearborn - where more than 90 percent of the population is Arab American - 56 percent had voted for uncommitted while Biden had received 40 percent. Biden won the primarily easily by taking over 80 percent of the overall vote, but a push from activists saw uncommitted take five times the protest vote against Barack Obama in 2012. It's a sign that the Biden campaign could see consequences in the state with 15 electoral college votes if the situation in the Middle East remains unstable. On the Republican side, Donald Trump won his fifth primary contest of the 2024 race by defeating Nikki Haley 65 percent to 30.9 percent as of late Tuesday night.

Republicans seeking to impeach the president claim that Joe Biden used his position and 'brand' to enrich his family in a complex 'influence peddling' scheme. But they are still looking for enough proof that the then-vice president influenced foreign policy to the financial benefit of his family to the tune of over $20 million. They view Hunter's long-awaited deposition as critical to provide concrete evidence tying Joe directly to his family's profitable foreign business schemes. They will need to convince every single GOP lawmaker Joe is complicit with their slim two-vote majority or else an impeachment vote will fail in the House.

The star witness was grilled on if Willis started a relationship with Wade before she hired him to prosecute the former president.. His testimony could have major implications on whether the embattled Fulton County District Attorney is thrown off the case. This decision came following a meeting between Judge Scott McAfee and Bradley, where it was revealed that certain communications between Wade and Bradley do not fall under the protection of attorney-client privilege. Judge McAfee informed the attorneys involved in the case through email about the exclusion of some communications from attorney-client confidentiality.

House Republicans have subpoenaed the Justice Department for recordings and transcripts of Special Counsel Hur's interview with President Joe Biden in which he described him as an 'elderly man' with 'diminished faculties.' The three committee chairs leading the Biden impeachment inquiry made good on their threats to subpoena the material if they did not get it by February 19.  Now that the deadline passed, the Republicans are taking more aggressive action on the eve of their impeachment deposition with star witness Hunter Biden. 

Progressive 'Squad' member Rep. Rashida Tlaib is proposing legislation that could provide homeless youth under 30 nearly $17,000 in cash per year. The Youth Homelessness Guaranteed Income Pilot Program Act would establish a plan providing $1,400 of 'direct cash assistance' per month - or fair market rent - to 'emancipated minors and young adults under 30 years old experiencing homelessness.' The bill would give participants cash assistance over a three-year period, netting them more than $50,000 in total. It would then provide resources to study participants' housing and health outcomes. 'We can't keep repeating the same policy approaches that haven't ended the youth homelessness crisis,' Tlaib, D-Mich., said in a statement announcing the bill.

Longshot Republican presidential candidate Ryan Binkley ended his 2024 campaign Tuesday and immediately endorsed former President Donald Trump for the GOP nomination. Binkley, who has never held elected office, focused most of his campaign's effort on performing well in the Iowa caucuses, though traveling around the Hawkeye State only ended up getting him less than 800 votes.
