EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Balloons go up for the fiancée of Rod Stewart's son Liam after she heads to Las Vegas for a lively hen do

Penny Lancaster is the only Lady Stewart – but in three months' time there will be a new Mrs Stewart joining the family.

Sir Rod's son Liam is engaged to Nicole Artukovich, who headed to Las Vegas, for a lively hen do at the weekend.

The American project manager, who can be seen in a hotel room, surrounded by silver foil letter balloons saying 'Mrs Stewart', says her hens spoiled her rotten. 'With the cutest Stewart Social Club,' she says.

Nicole had a child with ice hockey professional Liam last year. They called their son Louie, with Roderick a middle name. Liam was born in Britain but raised in California. His mother is Rachel Hunter, Sir Rod's second wife.

She's already got an OBE, but Harry Potter star Miriam Margolyes doesn't expect to be made a dame. 'It's very flattering that people think I'm worthy of that, but I'd be very surprised,' says the actress, 82, who played Professor Sprout. 'But I would be thrilled, because I'd love to be a dame and [even] bloody old Maureen Lipman's a dame.'

Child-star Zara blasts boozy, druggy music biz

UK chart-topper Zara Larsson, whose career kicked off in 2008 when she won Sweden's Got Talent at the age of ten, has spoken of the 'uncomfortable situations' she was put in as a child.

'There have been situations where I don't feel comfortable — there was a lot of alcohol and drugs around,' the singer tells the Happy Place podcast. Larsson, whose hits include Symphony with Clean Bandit, adds: 'I've left spaces where I thought, 'I don't think I should be here'.

'In no other situation outside of the music industry would a teenage girl sit in a room with ten grown men, there's no other scenario where that's not inappropriate.'

Daisy's dig at 'gold digger' Jackie O

Daisy Goodwin's new novel, Diva, is based on the life of opera star Maria Callas and her love affair with billionaire Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis.

While the author refers to Callas as a 'goddess', she doesn't think so highly of Onassis's second wife, the former U.S. First Lady, Jacqueline Kennedy, whom she brands a gold-digger.

'Jacqueline was only out for one thing, and that was money, whereas Maria loved Onassis,' Goodwin tells me at the book's launch party at the London Library.

'Jackie was on the make whereas Maria never let Onassis pay for anything. She even paid for her own tickets on Olympic Airways, which he owned. She's a goddess and found self-respect in the end.'

Fashion designer and sculptress Nicole Farhi received a Legion d'Honneur from the French government as well as an honorary CBE from the British.

And she is in no doubt which she values more. 'I'm most proud of the French one,' she tells me at an art exhibition in Chelsea, West London.

Fashion designer and sculptress Nicole Farhi who has received a Legion d'Honneur from the French government as well as an honorary CBE says she is most proud of her French award

'It's incredible to be awarded the Legion of Honour, especially not living in France. The French government heard that I was a good French woman bringing French style and French qualities to a country that is not hers.'

Farhi, who is married to playwright Sir David Hare, says she was 'also very pleased' to receive the British honour, but does not think King Charles measures up to his mother. 'I have met her on different occasions,' she says of the late Queen. 'She was absolutely charming. I don't think King Charles has the aura of the Queen.

'She was an incredible woman. She had so much honesty and integrity.'

She founded e11even in 2005 with her friend Amanda Grossman and they sell a 'luxury unisex fragrance oil' for £80. More products are planned, but latest figures for the firm behind the concern, called Canyon International Ltd, show it was £76,487 in the red in 2023. That's up from a deficit of £44,961 in 2022.
