The 55-year-old performer led a Great Dane by a leash while hurriedly making her way down one of the Big Apple's busy streets as she filmed scenes for the project.
The actress - who recently brought her youngest child to a Paris Fashion Week event - kept it casual in a flannel shirt that was worn underneath a yellow crewneck sweater as she worked on the movie.
Watts also donned a pair of wide-legged navy blue pants and completed her look with bight red socks and dark brown boots.
The Academy Award-nominated performer's beautiful blonde hair fell towards her shoulders as she made her way through New York City.

The Friend is based on Sigrid Nunez's novel of the same name, which was originally published in 2018.
The book is centered on a writer who takes in an elderly Great Dane after its owner, who also happened to be one of her close friends, unexpectedly passes away.
Deadline initially revealed that The Friend was being adapted for the screen in February of 2022.
At the time, it was revealed that Watts had been cast as the movie's lead and that Scott McGehee and David Siegel would be co-directing the project.
In addition to helming the film, the creative duo co-wrote the feature's screenplay and serve as two of its executive producers.
Performers such as Bill Murray, Noma Dumezweni and Constance Wu will fill out the cast of the upcoming movie.
Physical production for the adaptation of the novel commenced in New York City last month.
The Friend's prospective premiere date has not been revealed to the public as of yet.

Watts is also preparing for the premiere of the finale of the historical drama series Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, in which she stars as Babe Paley.
The program, which is based on writer Truman Capote's real-life conflict with a group of socialites, made its debut this past January.
The show also features the participation of performers such as Molly Ringwald, Chloe Sevigny and Demi Moore, among others.
The finale of the program, which serves as the second season of the Feud anthology series, will make its debut this Wednesday.
