If you happen to be among the iPhone owners who downloaded the Everything.me app, we wanted to let you know that we’re discontinuing our iPhone app service. This means currently installed apps will no longer work, the app is off the App Store and we will not be releasing any future updates.
We came to realize that the Dynamic Phone concept, where your phone gets what you want and instantly adapts, can only reach its potential when employed on open operating systems. Therefore, we are focusing our product and engineering efforts on our Android launcher and Firefox OS integration.
These platforms are open by nature, allowing us to bring our users a truly awesome Dynamic Phone experience. iOS, being a closed ecosystem, doesn’t lend itself quite well to our product and vision.
The 200,000 people who have already downloaded the Android launcher in the first 5 weeks since launching it, and the amazing feedback we get, show us that we have made the right decision to focus on open platforms.
In the next few days we’ll be phasing out our support for the Everything.me iOS app which will ultimately make it nonoperational.
