BRIT Award “Spot” Statue Designed by British Artist Damien Hirst

Just released the first image of The BRIT Award statue designed by British artist Damien Hirst, best known for his “spot paintings.”

Hirst is the third iconic British (part of the YBAs) artist to give the BRIT statue some pizazz! others were fashion designer Vivienne Westwood (2011) and ‘Sergeant Pepper’ artist Peter Blake (2012).

Hirst said: “I am honoured to be asked to design this year’s statue, it has become such an iconic award, I love the BRITs.”

The BRIT Awards will take place on February 20, 2013 and hosted by James Corden.
