In 1947-1948 the works manufactured a pilot batch of five helicopters Mi-1 designed by M.L. Mil, but the series production was transferred to another enterprise.

In 1948 the works started production of the An-2, the ‘ancestor' of the great Ans family, designed by Oleg Konstantinovich Antonov (1906-1984).

The An-2 was fitted with the engine ASh-62IR with power of 735 kWt. It secured the cruise speed of 180 kph, the maximum payload of 1500 kg, and the range of up to 2300 km (with the maximum load – 420 km).

The works produced 18 modifications of the An-2: transport, passenger, agricultural, a water bomber for forest fire fighting, an airplane for fish shoals exploration, aircraft for scientific and rescue operations in arctic conditions, etc.

“Aviant” works manufactured 3320 An-2s, and taking into account the volume of its production in other countries, the An-2 entered Guinness's Book of Records as the most popular airplane.

In 1954-1956 the works produced a prototype of the military transport aircraft An-8 fitted with two turboprop engines with the power 5180 ehp. that provided for flight at the cruise speed of 450 kph, carrying capacity of up to 11 t, and flight range of up to 3900 km.

The An-8 was the first specialized airplane in the country; at that vehicle the scheme of a passenger aircraft was perfected. By now it has become a classic one: a high-wing airplane with engines at wings, the body landing gear in special spats, and a big cargo door in rear.

In 1959-1978 the works manufactured the passenger An-24 (1028 airplanes produced). The An-24 is designed to carry 52 passengers at the cruise speed of 450 kph; the flight range is up to 2500 km (with the maximum load – 990 km).

In 1967 the works was renamed “Kyiv Aircraft plant”, or “Organization Mailbox M-5249”.

In 1969-1985 the works manufactured the transport An-26 (1402 airplanes produced). The An-26 is designed to carry up to 5.5 t of cargo at the cruise speed of 420 kph; the flight range is 2200 km (with maximum payload 760 km).

On September 8, 1970 the enterprise was awarded the Order of Labor Red Banner for the success achieved in aircraft manufacture.

In 1973-1973 the works manufactured the aircraft for air photography An-30 (123 airplanes produced). The An-390 is designed to air photography at the range of up to 2880 km at the cruise speed of 320 kph.

On April 30, 1974 the works was renamed “Kyiv Aviation Production Association”.

On October 15, 1980 the works won the International prize “Gold Mercury” as special recognition of its contribution to manufacture and international cooperation.

In 1976-1979 the works manufactured a pilot batch of the transport An-72 (5 airplanes produced). The An-72 is designed to carry up to 10t of cargoes at the cruise speed of 720 kph and the flight range of up to 3200 km (with maximum load – 1000 km).

The series production of the An-72 was transferred to Kharkov facilities, and “Aviant” was charged with mastering production of the unique An-124 “Ruslan”, the world's biggest aircraft.

The An-124 “Ruslan” is designed to carry up to 150t of cargo at the cruise speed of 800-850 kph and the flight range of up to 16500 km (with the maximum load – 4500 km).

During 1979-2003 the facilities produced 18 airplanes of the type.

In 2003 the An-124 “Ruslan” won the contest “100 Ukrainian Best Goods”.

Since 1979 the works has been manufacturing the An-32 (for May 1, 2004 361 airplanes produced). The An-32 is designed to carry up to 6.7 t of cargo at the cruise speed of 500 kph and the flight range of up to 2600 km (with the maximum load – 650 km). At present time, the aircraft undergoes updating: the capacity is being increased (to 8 t), the crew – reduced, the flight range and the engines service life – raised.

In 1985-1988 the facilities participated in manufacture of units for the An-225 “Mriya”, designed to carry the shuttle “Buran”. Yet, as the space program was suspended, only one An-225 “Mriya” was produced.

On August 5, 1992 the works was renamed “National Enterprise “Kyiv Aviation Plant”.

On August 27, 1995 the works was renamed “ Kyiv “Aviant” State Aviation Plant ”.

In 1995 the facilities received the International Prize “Birmingham Torch” for successful economic survival and development in conditions of social and economic crisis.

Apart from on-going manufacture of the An-32, the “Aviant” collective sees perspectives in mastering and series production of Tu-334s and An-70s.

The baseline model of the Tu-334, the Tu-334-100, is designed to carry 102 passenger is in the economy class. It is fitted with the engines D-436T1, and secures the flight range of 3150 km at the speed of 820 kph. There are variants with increased number of passengers or flight range (to 8000 km), there are plans for a cargo variant.

On December 30, 2003 the Tu-334-100 received a type certificate, and the facilities started the series production of the vehicle.

The An-70 is a unique military transport aircraft with no analogues. It ensures carriage of almost every type of armament and defense technology weighing 30-47t at the range correspondingly 5000-1350 km at the speed of 750-800 kph, as well as equipment landing and troops parachuting from high and low altitudes. Depending on the way of use, the An-70 can take off both from paved runway with the length of 1800 km and unpaved landing strips with the length of 600-900 km.

“Aviant” signed a contract with the Ukrainian Defense Ministry for delivery of five first An-70s. To some extend, the financing of them entered the State budget for 2004.

In addition to the abovementioned aircraft the company continues manufacturing trolleybuses K-12 “Kyivsky” that are the only trolleybuses in the CIS manufactured under aviation technologies and made of various aviation materials, and TNP.

By now, 67 trolleybuses “Kyivsky” are operated in Kyiv , for example, in the Sviatoshinsky district.

“Aviant” also produces consumer goods, such as the pram “Malvina”, the laundry washer “Lybid”, the swing “Tik-Tak”, curtain holders, handcarts , etc. (??????)

“Aviant” has every reason to have optimistic plans for its future. For the last few years the company has been raising scope of production, and there are grounds to expect this tendency to continue. “Aviant” welcomes all potential partners and customers to mutually beneficial cooperation.
