Q: Who is the owner of this website? Since I'm going to sue you, how can I/my lawyer contact you?

or (much better):

Q: I really dig your work and I'd like to give you all my money! How can I contact you?

A: You can contact me via e-mail. You will find the e-mail address on my page.

A: Since this is a wiki, please take into consideration that not all of the stuff here has been entered by me. This includes links to other websites.

Please note that I do what I can to check all english and german pages. I do not speak any other language...

Q: I want to add a question or an answer here. How do I do this?

A: Since this page is intentionally read-only for others, you can easily add your question/answer/comment on my page. I will take care of it ;)

Q: I am curious about how becoming an owner works. I accidentally became an owner of a page and I want to unown it.

A: You automatically become the owner of a page when you create one or - if nobody is the owner of a page yet - click "Take Ownership" in the footer. To be the owner means that you can control how other people can access this particular page (see "Edit ACLs" below on a page you own). The default for this wiki is: everybody can read, write, and comment a page after creation.

If you do not want to own a page any longer, you can assign it to another user via "Edit ACLs" as well. You cannot assign it to "nobody". Yet.

Q: If I am an owner does that automatically mean that others can't access the page?

A: No, not at all. Please see the above answer for details.

Q: Can text wrap in the edit box?

A: This differs from browser to browser and maybe from operating system to operating system. And even worse, maybe from version to version of the browser software. But I hope to find a solution soon...

Q: I'd like to start a tiny little project here on worldwidewiki.net. What do I have to do?

A: If you are not sure whether to get it hosted here or not, contact me.

A: To avoid confusions with Wiki page names here: Please add a project related prefix to every newly created page of your project. Like this: WorldWideWiki, WorldWideWikiFAQs, WorldWideWikiIssues, WorldWideWikiNews, WorldWideWikiTodo, WorldWideWikiWiki.

Q: So, if I can create new pages and edit every page and do everything else without logging in ... what's the point of logging in ?

A: That's easy. When you are logged in:

And there is more to come...

Q: Is there any way to tell the difference between a "normal" page (one written and edited by actual human beings, such as RalfLehmann, and looks the same to everyone in the world) vs. "special words" (recognized by the the Wiki software, such as MyPages, so it gives every user a different-looking page)?

A: It's not just recognized by a wiki word. It's merely an added "action" to a wiki page. Special pages are: PageIndex, RecentChanges, UserSettings, MyPages, MyChanges, OrphanedPages, TextSearch, and WantedPages. This means that these pages have a special function and aren't normal wiki pages. All of them are read only as of 2003-06-11. See WorldWideWikiNews for details.

The following Q and A is copied from wakkawiki.com and slightly modified.
Q: What happens if two users start editing a page at the same time? Wouldn't all info of the person who saves first be lost?

A: When saving the second one gets a message that his changes cannot be stored. He is asked to copy his changes and edit the newest version of the page.

Q: Is it possible to add images to pages, as I've seen on other wikis?

A: It is currently not possible to upload images or to have inline images (where you just add a URL). The wiki software used here doesn't have this feature implemented. But it is planned to either switch to an improved derivate of this software or maybe to implement the inline images functionality in this very wiki software version. See also AddingImages.

Q: Is there a standard way to handle the WikiNamePluralProblem? http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?WikiNamePluralProblemThis is an external link and will be opened in a new window/tab. in WakkaWiki ?

A: Unfortunately not. Furthermore, page names are case-sensitive. But in order to make the reading of content easier (i.e. avoid CamelCaseLinks) it is possible to use [[ and ]] for links and to choose a more appropriate link text. See either the TextFormattingGuide page or the information below the edit field (in edit mode, of course ;) for details.
