Hello, new user. As you probably know, trollpasta is meant to be a parody of scary stories. However, lately a few of the other admins and I have noticed that some people don't seem to quite grasp that concept. So I've made a guide.
This small guide will show you only one rule:
Making the story bad does not make it automatically funny.
If you just write an unreadable all-caps story with poop jokes and EVIL PATRIXXX, that's just plain unoriginal. They add nothing to parody the CPW and overall are just clutter. Take, for example, the story "ZOMG IZ ZGARIEZED BAZDA LIGE 1337 H4X", a story I deleted for being complete shite, but I will leave up as an example of what not to do. You can search on it right now.
You should see from the title that the reader has intentionally made the title hard to read, to parody trollpastas. But here's the thing: The point of satire is to mix criticism with humor. But making the story look juvenille with bad spelling and grammar just makes it irritating to read, not to mention we've all seen it before. You need to think of something actually entertaining besides bad grammar. Imagine if Chris Rock or George Carlin started doing all their stand-up routines in a really annoying whiny voice. Everyone would either be too focused trying to decipher what they would be saying to hear the genius, or just stop watching them out of frustration. (Yeah I know George Carlin is dead.)
So yeah that's pretty much it. Seems simple, but you'd be surprised at how many people fuck up on this. I fully agree with this. It's hard finding actually-funny Trollpasta amidst all the endless trash. Heck, I can't even believe that Sturgeon's Law would apply to a wiki that's specifically devoted to crap, but apparently it does.
And then, rather ironically seeing as this was just after this thread was posted, some immature little kid who obviously just discovered Trollpasta took it upon himself to turn a somewhat-decent (at least, by comparison, but that's admittedly not saying much) pasta into, as you quite accurately worded it, "an unreadable all-caps story with poop jokes and EVIL PATRIXXX". I'm not sure which is a sadder fact: that he's wasting his (and other people's) time doing this, or that he actually thinks that he's being funny.
In my opinion, no, because at least I can read those two. A pasta like "ZOMG IZ ZGARIEZED BAZDA LIGE 1337 H4X" is not funny because you can't read it. Seriously. I don't think anyone can. I tried reading it, and i just couldn't, so I couldn't really call it funny or even amusing for that matter. That's what made it unfunny, not the fact that it had bad grammar, the fact that it was impossible to read due to it's overly bad grammar.
I think that the Wiki needs a serious, urgent clean up and new rules to stop shitty trollpastas. It's annoying because the good ones that are being written are just being swarmed and ignored because of the thousands of shitty, unreadable grammar are taking them over. I admit, I used to make shit pastas too, but I am actually trying to write pastas that aren't just 'DEN PATRIXXX WAS DER HAPER RELESTIC BLUD AN I DIDED XX3143' now. The bad grammar joke is old and isn't funny because it's been done too many times. Creepypasta wiki deletes almost every Creepypasta that comes through, so I think we should also tighten up the rules. People seriously need to be more creative than just writing plain unreadable pastas that are trying to be funny.
Wait, I need to ask a question...does the wiki no longer allow any intentionally bad pastas, or do they only allow intentionally bad pastas that are actually funny?
They don't allow most unfunny one sentences, they don't allow stories that are incomprehensible, No spam pastas either, so intentionally bad pastas might not make it.

The category is for pages that are not funny, but bring out humor. And it's a category for admins, so you can't delete it since it has purpose, and not abused by other users.

I'm actually glad this is getting talked about. Especially when I can read one trollpasta and read another and not know the difference between the two. Not literally, of course, but still.
Excellent. Now I can focus on making properly written TPs which fit in, as opposed to junky stuff which unfortunately blends in with the rest of the crowd.
I think there should be more bait and switch pastas. Those ones have amazing punchline endings. Old News for an example is one of my favorite bait and switches. (its on the creepypasta wiki under the trollpasta section)
The whole idea of trollpasta is to intentionally make it bad. If you want to use improper grammar, go ahead, also, there are no rules for trollpasta, just do what you want

The previous one WAS a face, but it was rather poorly drawn in MSPaint. I redrew it in MSPaint with my better drawing skills(my previous drawings were based by Doraemon's art style, and let's just say the "style" was crap, so I discarded the poor style), and made it look more of a face. It was partially inspired by the fictional character Jeff The Killer (this explains the psycho expression).

I know I'm a little late to comment on this, but I always try to make my TPs as funny as possible. So when I see another TP that's actually funny, it makes me happy to know that I'm not one of the only people trying to actually be funny. Pastas like, "ZOMG IZ ZGARIEZED BAZDA LIGE 1337 H4X" were like my first few: unfunny and hard to read.
What about stories that just randomly cross over everything possible into a story with decent grammar and a actual plot. Like 'Jeef the Killer' for instance

Wow. This is good. I never write a trollpasta unless I have a clear idea of what I want to write. I never want my trollpastas to be the same shit I encounter all the time on here. Hopefully everyone reads this.
