Unidentified Patient - Mr X

The patient dubbed 'Piano Man' is no longer in the care of West Kent NHS and Social Care Trust.  He has been discharged from our care following a marked improvement in his condition.

The rules regarding patient confidentiality mean that the Trust is unable to make any further comment on this story.  This includes any comment on his condition, current location or the circumstances in which he left the Trust's care.

The Trust would like to express its thanks to the many agencies that worked on this case; including the National Missing Persons' Helpline, the police and the local health economy.

The Trust's involvement with this man has now ceased and will not be resuming at any stage.

The Trust will not be making any further statements on this story.  Journalists will not be offered any further information and calls to the Trust on this issue will be refferred directly to this statement.

At no stage, now or in the future, will the Trust or any of its staff discuss the detail of the care this man received whilst in our care.  Similarly, no comment will be made about the work udertaken to identify him.

There are no plans for any media interviews with Trust staff.

The Trust can not issue any further information as it has a duty not to disclose any personal information.

Media are not welcome on site at Little Brook Hospital.  Any media found on site will be asked to leave immediately.  Similarly any media found at Medway Maritime Hospital will be made to leave immediately.
