Truro and Threemilestone Area Action Plan The Truro and Threemilestone Area Action Plan will set out the blueprint for the location of new transport infrastructure, housing, shopping, office, industrial and leisure in Truro and Threemilestone. It will more importantly develop a vision and masterplan for developing a Truro that meets all of our needs in a sustainable and locally distinctive way. Truro Cathedral The vision for development in Truro comes from the Core Strategy, which has drawn on the work of the Cornwall Structure Plan (2004) and the emerging Regional Spatial Strategy for the South West in recommending that residential growth be concentrated to the South and West of Truro. This work has been further supported through the Landscape Strategy for Truro (2000) and the Highertown Masterplan (2003). Consultation on the options A Planning and Transport Forum was set up on the 15th of September 2004 to assist in the development of the Area Action Plan. The group is non-politically based and made up of key stakeholders and representatives of the city. The group met regularly until January 2006 to discuss key issues affecting the development of the Area Action Plan based on terms and reference and a work programme agreed at inception. The key ideas and direction for growth in the city have evolved initially from consultations on the Issues Report (2000), meetings of the Planning and Transport Forum and the input of key stakeholders. The next step We are now preparing a preferred options document that we will then release for public consultation and participation. We will publish details of the timetable for consultation and participation on this web site in due course, however if you wish to add your name to our list of consultees please let us know by e-mail at: ldf@carrick.gov.uk. It is anticipated that this consultation will be carried out in June 2006. Consultations will be carried out in accordance with the Council's Statement of Community Involvement (SCI), a copy of which can be downloaded from the 'Related Pages' link on the right of this page. For the Truro Area Action Plan we anticipate exhibitions being held at key locations in the City and presentations to key stakeholders and the City Council. Posters and leaflets will be distributed to raise awareness of the event, alongside advertisements and a press release in the West Briton.
