About the Awards

GameSpot's Best of 2010 awards cover special achievements in the field of advancements for games, dubious honors for less-than-admirable qualities, and full awards for individual genres and every major platform. Nominations and awards are the result of rigorous debate among GameSpot's editors, who select up to five finalists and one winner for almost every category (the Game of the Year category includes up to 10 finalists). To qualify for an editorial award, games must have been reviewed by GameSpot between January 1, 2010, and November 30, 2010.

Award categories are intended to call out those games that truly deserve the attention--therefore, while each award is meaningful, it's considered an honor simply to be nominated.

Driving games come in so many different shapes and sizes that it's not always easy to pit them against each other. But someone once said that nothing worth doing is easy, and so with our Best Driving award we honor the best that this expansive genre had to offer in 2010.

    GT5 is ps3 exclusive but NFS:HP is on both consoles,,,,,but still GT5 winning...GT5 almost real lifelike experience...

    Even though Gran Turismo 5 was disappointing, it still gets my vote.

    F1 was nice (Michale Schumacher!!!!!!!!!)
    NFS HP is Burnout in Disguise (I hate burnout)
    GT5 Lacks emotion as always
    split/second sux (those who thinks its a drifting game, sux too)
    Blur gets my vote . . most fun i've had from a racing game this year . . both on/offline modes

    F1 2010 or GT5, both are pretty good. NFS sucks since Carbon.

    agreed Red Dead the best driving game, them long horse and wagon rides are proper sim quality, just the best riding experience ever. ##
    Or red dead hyped crap, old gt4 engine, crap 3rd person shooting system. But nice setting and co-op fun.

    yep i agree sonic & sega all stars is the best racing game of 2010, maybe the best of all time. If your under the age of 7
