Promotion advice for you!

Website promotion

In the Internet world, the old "build it and they shall come" saying simply isn't true. In addition to building a great site, you must also learn to promote it. You must learn the art of website promotion. You don't have to master it, but to drive at least some traffic to your site, you're going to need a basic knowledge about the subject.

I started building this site after I had experienced the same difficult task every webmaster has to face. When I started on the 'Net, I didn't know the first thing about website promotion. So I had to work and experiment. I made a lot of mistakes. I got frustrated a lot. I felt like giving up more than once. But I did learn a little from it.

So, I started thinking. Why should everyone else have to go trough the same things I did and solve the same problems I did? Why not just tell them what worked for me and how I managed to build traffic? And so this site was born... But my learning process is not over. It is never over. I pick up new things every day, and so it should be, because in website promotion, everyone who stops learning eventually also stops earning. This site is not, nor will it be, static. It will keep on changing and evolving.

I've seen a lot of sites teaching website promotion out there. The problem is, most of them are written from the marketer's point of view and don't offer very specific advice. That's why I tried to create this site for the average webmaster; more straight-forward advice, less fancy words.

If you're a new visitor (and since you are reading this, you probably are), you'd probably want to know what's worth reading and what isn't. While I believe that reading every article is useful, you should at least read all the articles related to Directories and Search Engines and the page about reciprocal links, they are the most important of the bunch.

When you have read everything this site has to offer, don't stop there. There are several other excellent sites that teach website promotion in the Promotion links section. Good luck with your efforts!

Oh, regular visitors should note that I just rewrote and updated the 'Directories' article, hopefully the new version will prove to be an improvement. Enjoy, comments and feedback are welcome as always.
