for execution, even if you don't have cron privileges on your
host!
Why would I use it?
To execute scripts on your server at particular times or days.
For example, you may have a search engine script that needs
to index all the pages on your site. Rather than running it
manually (whenever you remember!), you could simply schedule
it to run every hour, every 3 hours, or whenever! Our
easy-to-use web interface lets you schedule events down
to the hour, so you can complete control over when things get
run.
My host already supports cron
If it does, and you can run whatever you want, great! However,
our experience over the years has been that most web hosts
deny cron usage, for security and performance
concerns. Other hosts limit you to one job at 3am, or other
similar restrictions. With cronservice.com, you can
run multiple scripts on your own schedule!
