Other promotion methods
This section includes all the different promotion methods that do not fit
into the other categories. Don't be fooled, despite the fact that these methods
don't have their own categories, some of them are actually extremely important
in building a successful website.
This category currently has the following articles:
-
Awards as promotion methods. We'll take a peek
at their advantages and disadvantages and learn who's actually winning -
the person winning the award or the one giving it?
-
Banner promotion. We'll discuss different forms
of banner advertising and the costs related to it. We'll also look at different
banner exchanges and determine how useful they are.
-
Click-Thru. This is an interesting method to
promote your site; visit sites and get visited yourself. It's efficiency
is however questionable, learn why.
-
Design & content. Here's a quick piece about
the importance of design and most of all content. Ever heard the phrase "content
is king"? It's true!
-
FFA promotion. This article is about the dangers of
submitting to FFA's and also gives instructions to avoid the worst pitfalls.
-
Get the user to return. I wrote this to remind
people that a lot of traffic can be achieved by getting the same people to
return to your site again and again.
-
Promotion links. This is not an article,
it contains links to different resources I believe are useful to anyone
interested in promoting his site.
-
Reciprocal links. This is probably the most important
article in this category, if not in the entire site. We'll talk about finding
the right partner and what to do after you've found "Mr. Right" :).
-
Topsites. You've probably visited a "Top 50"
site at least once. But is it useful to enter your site in one?
