DMV Employment: Applying for a DMV Position: What to Expect

Positions are posted every two weeks. So, make a note to periodically check our job listings.

  • If you are applying for more than one position, submit a separate application and/or resume for each. Photocopies are acceptable.

  • We accept applications and resumes only for posted positions.

  • We will send you a letter letting you know that we received your application and/or resume.

  • Your application and/ or resume will be screened against criteria relating to the position’s duties and the required knowledge, skills and abilities. This process can take several weeks.

  • If you are invited to interview, do your homework on DMV – who we are, what we do --so that you can relate your experience to the work we do. And, be prepared to ask some questions of your own.

  • If you are not selected for this position, you will receive a letter letting you know that another candidate was selected.

  • If you are selected, you will receive an offer letter.
