Welcome to Our WorldGalway Southeast - The Easy Shannon Connection
Ireland now enjoys a Tourism Industry which is enviable to our competitors. Some areas which are constantly promoted as the main tourist attractions now suffer from peak season pressure which can lead to frustration for our visitors. However gaining access to information for areas that are not on the traditional tourist trail can be difficult. This is why we invite you to take some time to tour our site and let us introduce you to this unique region of Galway and Lough Derg. All of the accommodation and activity providers are owner operated and are of a very high standard. They will do their best to ensure that you will experience the friendliness and warmth that has become synonymous with the Irish. In this wonderful region you can truly get away from it all and experience a different pace of life, and we promise you the only queue you might have to deal with will be the queue for the settling of pints of Guinness down at the local, however if you want the hustle and bustle of our cities we are only 45 minutes drive from Galway City and are no more than a couple hours drive from many national attractions and large urban centres. We know what we have got to offer our visitors here in this region is special and we are very protective of our environment. We believe in protecting our core values, and sustaining the values that make us the people we are. Galway Southeast Tourism - Winners of National Agri Tourism Award 2001Galway South East Tourism Company won the prestigious national agri tourism award 2000, having beaten off stiff competition from all 32 counties in Ireland. This is a major achievement for the area and is testament to the hard work and dedication of the accommodation and activities providers in the area. This is the second time the company has won the award having won it in 1993.
Our Mission StatementWe aim to create an industry which attempts to make a low impact on the environment and local culture, while helping to generate income, employment, and the conservation of local ecosystems. For our tourism industry to become commercially sustainable, a combination of resources, activities, and services, must be sold and managed responsibly. We aim to create Sustainable Development that meets the needs and aspirations of the current generation without compromising the ability to meet those of future.
