The
Meredith Publishing Group includes magazine and book publishing
and a variety of resources (such as our Consumer Database) used
in the integrated marketing programs we develop for outside clients.
Our
publications have two common themes: service journalism and
a home-and-family focus. We publish 17 subscription magazines,
more than 120 issues of Special Interest Publications (SIP's)
on cooking, decorating, building and remodeling, crafting, and
gardening. We also have more than 300 book titles in print,
most of which carry the Better Homes and Gardens trademark.
Fiscal
2001 Publishing Group profits were $132.8 million, 82% of the
company's total profit before nonrecurring items.
