State Quarters Collectibles
In 1999, the Fifty State Quarters Program was introduced and put into circulation. This innovative program was created to promote awareness of the history and geography of the United States. One quarter representing each state will be released every 10 weeks until 2008. The fifty quarters will be released in the order in which the states ratified the Constitution and joined the Union.
Each state quarter will be minted at both the Philadelphia and Denver branches of the U.S. Mint, and will feature a "P" or "D" on its obverse (heads) side to indicate where it was minted.
