The Building
Envelope Solutions Theory and Practice Courses previously known as the
Builders Tool Box, is currently underway. This set of courses was developed by the
Homeowner Protection Office in partnership with the Canadian Home Builders
Association of B.C. and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. Here is the Registration form

periodically holds free seminars on the process to repair leaky condos. At this point in
time no seminars are scheduled. Please check back later for furture seminar dates.

mandatory third-party home warranty insurance for building envelope renovations.
- Financial assistance available
- Legal considerations
- Technical information.

Building Envelope
Research Symposium

The Homeowner
Protection Office and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation will hosted B.C.s
first Building Envelope Research Symposium. Contributing partners include the Building
Envelope Research Consortium (BERC), the Urban Development Institute (UDI) and the BC
Building Envelope Council (BC BEC).
The one-day event was attended by over
400 key industry representatives from British Columbia and Washington state including
builders, developers, building officials, architects, engineers, building envelope
consultants and renovators, building trades, building inspectors, home warranty insurance
providers building product suppliers and manufacturers and government agencies.
Key themes included research test
results and applications, quality assurance procedures, building envelope renovations,
high-rise construction and advanced systems. A trade show is also planned.
