Introduction
Situated at Europe's westernmost extremity, Ireland is widely regarded as The last unspoilt fishing location in Europe. Unspoilt in terms of a gregarious, friendly race of people and a refreshing absence of commercialism. Bathed in the warming waters of the North Atlantic Drift ( an off shoot of the Gulf Stream ) Ireland's Shannon Region is an undiscovered paradise for sea, coarse and game anglers.
Thousands of kilometres of picturesque fish bearing rivers, mile after mile of breathtaking coastline and hundreds of scenic well stocked lakes. You will also find Ireland's temperate climate with moderate summers, mild winters and sufficient rainfall very much to your liking.
And while Ireland enjoys a reputation for being remote, rugged and wild, it also boasts a level of luxury and infrastructure comparable to anywhere in Europe.
Unlike the rest of Europe however you will find that fishing in Ireland is surprisingly inexpensive, world famous lakes like Lough Derg can be fished free of charge, while lakes such as Lough Ree and Sheelin are yours for less than £10 a day.
