India and Pakistan
--Deputy Spokesman Reeker (June 3): "Today President Musharraf of Pakistan, Prime Minister Vajpayee of India, are both in Almaty, Kazakhstan, for meetings with their regional counterparts. We welcome very much the very positive efforts there in Almaty by President Putin and others in the international community to foster discussions at reducing tensions.... As we have said before, the solutions to problems between India and Pakistan will ultimately be found through dialogue, not through conflict." [audio clip]
