SHARE CERTIFICATES
Euro Rates will be posted when available
There are eight fisheries development societies in the country. Six of them coincide with Regional Board areas while the Shannon Region is divided into two - Lower Shannon and Upper Shannon ( upstream of Banagher Bridge). The purpose of the co-operative development societies is to raise funds for the development of trout and coarse fishing. When the management committees of the co-operatives are elected, the members decide by ballot whether or not a share certificate is required in order to fish in their area. Persons under 18 years or over 66, unemployed people who receive social welfare assistance and people in receipt of invalidity pension will not have to hold a share certificate. The Northern Fisheries Development Society and the Upper Shannon Development society are the two areas in the country where a share certificate is required to fish. In all other cases the purchase of share certificates is on a voluntary basis.
In the Upper Shannon region it is compulsory from Banagher Bridge Co Offaly up river
The Rates are as follows
Annual Share Certificate IR£12
21 Day Certificate IR£5.00
3 Days Certificate IR£3
NB: Most of the larger Tackle Shops that sell the Boards Trout Permits and Licences also sell the Share Certificate
