Captain Rusty Spencer was born in Hollywood, California.

1st Mate Scot Spencer was born in Palo Alto, California.

Rusty and Scot are both committed outdoor people who like water and dirt. Maybe better
described as fishing, surfing and dirt bike riding.
The interest in fishing can be traced to their younger days when their father, Robert,
would take the family to Mexico (Guymas, San Carlos Bay, San Felipe and Ensenada) for
fishing vacations. While living in the Redondo Beach area, Rusty became a dedicated surfer.

Blue Marlin fishing is a team effort. Rusty and Scot are the winning team you need.
They will guide you through the fight, every step of the way.

When Rusty graduated from high school, he was about to be drafted for the Vietnam War.
He instead enlisted in the Army as they guaranteed him a hitch in Hawaii where he wanted
to test the famous surfing spots.
In 1972, Rusty was assigned to the 25th Infantry at Schofield Barracks in the Adjutant General
(AG) company where he remained for three years departing as a Sergeant.
He liked Hawaii so much he decided to stay and went to work at Waimea Falls Park and attended
Leeward College. It wasn’t long before the fishing interest returned. At first he attached a
fishing pole to his surfboard and trolled by knee paddling along the shore. Next it was trolling
with his 16 ft Hobie Cat. Finally in 1982 he acquired the first Kuuloa Kai, a 24 ft Glasply and
started some serious fishing and eventually operating the Kuuloa Kai Charter Fishing Business.
After High school, Scot followed his brother to Hawaii and also worked at the Waimea Falls Park as
a mechanic for a number of years. Scot prefers the fishing life and has the fisherman’s touch.
He runs the activity on the back deck setting trolling lines, chumming bait, hooking fish,
helping guests land fish and whatever else he can do to be sure the charter guests enjoy their
fishing excursion.
