You can change your original auction description, title, category, quantity, payment types accepted, or international shipping preference once your auction has been posted, provided that no one has placed a bid on the auction or the reserve price has not been met. However, it is not possible to change your start price, reserve price, or buy price.
If your auction doesn't have a bid:
You can change your auction description, title, or category by clicking on "Click here to manage this auction" in the "You are the seller" box on your item's auction page.
To change the description, click on the "Change Title/Description" link. Any changes made will replace the old description.
To change the auction title, click on the "Change Title/Description" link.
To change the category your auction is listed in:
- Click on the "Change Category" link.
- Select the appropriate category for your auction by clicking through the listed categories.
- Once you find the most appropriate category for your auction, click on the "Change Category" link that follows that particular category's name.
- Once you confirm this category change, your auction will appear in the new category.
Please note: If you have featured your item in a category, the featured status won't be transferred to the new category. You will need to feature your auction again in the new category.
If your auction doesn't have a bid, you can change the payment types accepted, your international shipping preference, or the quantity of items (if your rating is greater than five or if your account has been verified via Yahoo! PayDirect Address Verification).
To make any of these changes, simply click on "Click here to manage this auction" in the "You are the seller" box, on your item's auction page. On the next page, click on the "Edit Auction" link.
If a bid has been placed on your auction:
If your auction already has a bid placed or if the reserve price has been met, it's not possible to change the description, title, or category. However, you can still update your auction description to provide additional information about your item. The additional information will appear below the original description and will be dated.
To update your auction with additional information:
- Simply click on "Click here to manage this auction" in the "You are the seller" box on your item's auction page.
- On the next page, click on the "Edit Auction" link.
When you update your auction, all current bidders are notified of your update via email or Yahoo! Messenger.
Throughout the entire duration of the auction, you have the ability to:
- Upload more photos.
- Change your minimum bidder rating.
To make any of these changes, simply click on the "Edit Auction" link.
