Family Liaison Office

Picture of House with World Globe insideWelcome to the Family Liaison Office (FLO) web site. If you are a Foreign Service employee or family member, we encourage you to explore the information in our web site and contact us directly if you need additional help. If you are a private citizen, we hope exploring our web site will give you a clearer idea of the complexities of the Foreign Service lifestyle and the difficulties our families face due to frequent moves to new cultures.  Link to FLO's media cam

FLO's mission is to improve the quality of life for Foreign Service families serving abroad by identifying issues, advocating for solutions, providing client services, and managing the worldwide Community Liaison Office (CLO) program. Our major areas of interest are Education and Youth, Family Member Employment, Evacuation Support and Support Services for those experiencing a personal or post crisis. We deliver services in these areas through individual advising, training and presentations, publications, and the CLO program.

Family Liaison Office publications are written to specifically address the issues faced by U.S. Government employees and family members assigned to, serving at, or returning from a diplomatic mission abroad.

NOTE: This material is specific to Foreign Service employees and their families. Our materials are in the public domain. We ask that you credit our office if you use them.
