The
Friendly Connections site is constructed with the
traveller in mind. Our URL's (website addresses) focus
on the exact business we are in http://www.nzhomestay.co.nz
and http://www.nzfarmstay.co.nz
.
Many
overseas visitors when first thinking of booking a
holiday to New Zealand may know the names of our main
centres but not where they are in relation to one
another. With our Home Page they will enter the site at
a page that has a complete New Zealand map with mouse
over options for each region. These options let them
visit a region and take a more in depth look into the
type of stays, accommodation and activities on offer.
They can click onto other centres within the region to
find out even more in depth information.
Area Pages
These
area pages are a great way to get free advertising for
your district. The information for these pages is
supplied by our hosts themselves. Afterall, they live
there, they know all the best places to visit, who the
best person is to take guests on a tour.
Maps
again are an important feature, not only is there a New
Zealand Map but an enlarged map of the region with a
major focus on towns and roads.
We
also limit the number of hosts listed on each region
page in order to gain a small group of like-minded
people.
The
more area pages there are, the more information we are
able to give visitors to our Friendly Connections
website.
Tourist
related businesses are also able to advertise on these

Hosts Pages
Each
host has their own dedicated page with a header
reflecting an overall view of their home, a welcome and
photograph of themselves. There can be up to 3
photographs from inside or outside their home or a
general shot from their district. Each page now has its
own personal touch and individuality.
The
New Zealand map also appears again here with highlights
and more detailed information from the region in which
the host lives.
A
quick reference chart appears at the bottom of every
page with easy reference to information like bed
numbers, bathrooms, dinner provided and tariffs etc.
This information appears in the same place and in the
same format on every page as we want to make life as
easy as possible for guests who wish to book their whole
New Zealand experience from our Friendly Connecitons
site.
They
are then able to book directly with the hosts.
All
hosts automatically appear in rotation as a feature stay
on the main Friendly Connections home page.
Friendly
Connections policy is 'we want to help hosts be in
charge of their own business'. To achieve this we don't
take any commissions or booking fees. If a host is busy
and we need to refer a guest to another host - this is a
free service. We want to see our hosts book as many bed
nights as possible and we'll do what ever we are able to
make sure this is achieved.
