INTERNET SERVICE UPDATE:

All systems functioning normally.

Please be advised that our upstream service provider (Telus) has scheduled network software updates during the following times:

Sunday January 19, 2003: 1 - 5 AM PDT
Sunday January 26, 2003: 1 - 5 AM PDT

As a result of these software upgrades our network connections may be impacted by multiple interruptions (of approximately 10 minutes each) for the duration of this maintenance as the new software is applied to the network components. Because of the large number of hardware components being upgraded it is difficult to identify which connections may be affected at specific times, hence the longer timeframe. Every effort will be taken to minimize this service interruption and we would like to apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

NETWORK AND INTERNET SERVICE HISTORY LOG:

25 Jan. 2003 01:00 am. Telus (our upstream provider) is experiencing an outage throughout BC. and Alta. related to a regional gateway in Vancouver. They have disptached technicians to deal with the problem. This outage affects internet access for all our customers in all locations. Issue resolved by 04:00 am.

There was a brief (approx. 10 minute) service interruption on Thursday Jan. 09, 2003 at 11:00 am. affecting all our Campbell River clients. This interruption was a result of scheduled maintenance which could not be performed at another time.

A system reboot was planned (and carried out) for the Campbell River cable network at 02:00 am. December 31, 2002. This reboot affected only cable internet subscribers and took approx. 10 - 20 minutes. Thanks and Happy New Year!

15 Dec. 2002 7:30 pm. A power outage in portions of downtown Courtenay means our Courtenay server equipment has been functioning on battery backup power since about 7:00 pm. Sunday Dec. 15. If the power outage continues beyond about 8:45-9:00 pm. all Comox Valley services will be offline until power is restored.
Power was restored approx. 8:15 pm. - thanks to the local BC Hydro crew!

12 Dec. 2002 1:00 - 3:00 pm. Service for *some* adsl clients may be interrupted as we reorganize IP address pools on different network segments. This change is required to accomodate growth. A simple reboot of attached equipment will clear the problem and get you a new IP address. Please contact our technical support department should you need assistance. Thank you.

11 Nov. 2002 10:00 am. - 11:15 am. Service for Campbell River cable modem clients was interrupted during this period. A router required rebooting to restore service. Our apologies for the outage.

02 Nov. 2002 6:30 pm. As of 6:30 pm. Sat. Nov. 02, we are experiencing an outage in our internet feed which affects all our locations. The outage has been reported to Telus (who provides our internet feed) and we have been advised this is a 'global outage'. Troubleshooting is ongoing and we will be advised when traffic returns to normal. We thank you for your patience.
Service was restored for a brief period between approximately 8:00 pm. and 8:45 pm. Telus has informed us they've had a module failure on one of their regional gateways and a replacement part may need to be secured before service is stabilized.
Service was restored at 02:20 am. Sunday Nov. 03

24 Oct. 2002 4:00 am. Server memory updates were completed between 3:00 - 4:00 am. at our Campbell River equipment facility.

12 Sept. 2002 6:30 am. A power malfunction is affecting all Campbell River internet services. Expected time to resolution is about 45 minutes (approx. 7:15 am.) Resolved 7:02 am.

09 Sept. 2002 Our main feed out of Campbell River is down as of 6:40 pm. This appears to be a problem with Telus owned routing equipment and they have issued us a trouble ticket. Personnel have been dispatched to identify and isolate the problem. Resolved 09 Sept. 2002 8:00 pm.

11 Mar. 2002 Please note we have been informed that Telus will be replacing the main fibre optics receiver which carries Digital Ark traffic at 02:15 am. on Tues. March 12. They anticipate service should resume no later than 02:45 am.

08 Mar. 2002 2:15 - 5:00 pm. There is a complete outage in our Campbell River network affecting both cable and dialup customers. Courtenay dialup customers who use the 897-0208 dial pool are also affected. The Courtenay 897-0504 dial pool is not affected. We have been issued a trouble ticket by Telus while they investigate and repair the problem. Thank you for your patience.

02 Mar. 2002 5:00 pm. We have lost connectivity for all our Nanaimo area customers. A Telus owned and maintained router in our equipment facility is not functioning and we are waiting for Telus to dispatch a replacement.

14 Feb. 2002 6:30 pm. Telus had equipment outages both in Victoria and Campbell River this evening beginning about 6:30 pm. Connectivity, while not completely down has been intermittent, with substantial packet loss ocurring on portions of outbound networks. This would have affected and may continue to affect all our customers sporadically while Telus addresses the problem. Thank you for your patience.
