About Accreditation:

Preface
It is a new Millennium. It is time for a change. It is absolutely essential for the Educational community to embrace positive change and truly acknowledge through practice, such dearly treasured American ideals as Freedom and Liberty. The time has come for the "conventional wisdom" of tradition to challenge it's cherished and tenaciously held to beliefs and unproven assumptions. One of those assumptions deals with the strange notion that a school must be "accredited" by a highly selective clique ("recognized" accrediting agency) to be of any value or worth. Non-traditional, non-residential education is a fact of life today just as much as the PC (Personal Computer) or Internet is. Non-traditional, non-residential, on-line and distance education are here to stay.

Didactic or Background
In the United States, accreditation is (in theory) used to assure quality in schools or educational institutions and programs. It should be noted that accreditation is a voluntary, non-governmental process of review and evaluation. The accreditation process requires an educational institution or program to meet certain, defined standards or criteria as set forth by the accrediting body. These so-called "standards" change from State to State, and from region to region. These standards also change with time. In fact, thankfully and partly because of our country's heritage and Constitution (re: "freedom of choice") there are no two Universities that have the same structure, philosophies, teaching modalities or evaluation criteria.

N.B. (nota bene) NOTE WELL:
The University of Berkley is not accredited by one of the seven regional accrediting agencies recognized by the United States Department of Education. Furthermore, the University is not accredited by any accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department or Secretary of Education. We are proud of this and celebrate our subsequent UNIQUE freedom, independence, creativity and non-traditional status, which allows us increased academic flexibility. Being loyal and true Americans, we feel it our duty to defend, support and encourage the inalienable rights we enjoy in this Great Land. All too often we find that the pursuit of truth, liberty and justice may be hindered by self-serving unconscionable laws. In an attempt to improve the quality of life for all, we at the University of Berkley have set before us the task and goal of attempting to change the long accepted academic "social order" into something more closely resembling reality. It is time to STOP discriminating against schools simply because they don't "fit the norm" or have a football stadium or possess millions of dollars in assets.

It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this. Therefore to this end of accomplishing our above stated goal let it be known:

The University of Berkley is not regionally accredited, in the traditional sense, due to outdated, irrational Restrictive Policies regarding non-residential, non-traditional online and distance educational facilities. In other words, traditional "brick and mortar" schools and many localities or school boards (the powers "that-be") are biased in their educational views and act from a "profit incentive" based motivation in hopes they can exclude those whom they perceive as interlopers; those base, vile, intruders that are so dubious and immoral by daring to be something different. These (traditional) individuals, schools and organizations are exclusive and elitist in their practices and policies. It should be noted for the record that MANY educators, teachers and professors as well as School District Administrators (both in the private and public sectors) have their degrees from the University of Berkley. Increasingly we are seeing a changing attitude of public opinion in favor of quality non-traditional distance and online education.

Practicum or Purpose:
While not accredited in a traditional sense, the University of Berkley is however accredited by NAPFEW (New Millennium Accrediting Partnership For Educators Worldwide). Please click the link and read about their revolutionary new program. Currently NAPFEW is not recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. With the rate at which our constantly evolving social consciousness is developing in all of humanity, we feel that eventually this situation will change. With continued efforts on our part and the actions of other intelligent, enlightened people the world over, we shall witness a revolution in education that can only have a positive liberating effect upon all.

Accreditation or acceptance by NAPFEW is intended to help ensure that degrees issued by University of Berkley possess the "potential for acknowledgment" they require to stand a chance of possibly being better accepted by institutions and companies here in the United States and elsewhere in the world.

Conclusion:
While the University of Berkley and it's graduates or degree holders already experience a universally high acceptance rate there exist still, occasional isolated individuals or organizations that are not yet sufficiently evolved or enlightened enough to embrace the reality that: "Education, knowledge, skill, ability and wisdom belong to the INDIVIDUAL… regardless of how or where he or she gained it". We believe that many of our students/graduates are among the highest caliber, most intelligent, talented, best-educated and most effective individuals you will find anywhere. They, and their UofB degrees, are equal to their counterparts from traditional schools anywhere in the world.

Please remember that accreditation by NAPFEW does not guarantee everyone will accept your degree. If you are unsure about whether the company you work for or any such company/institution you would like to approach for employment will accept your degree, we encourage you to contact them before proceeding further with us. Non-traditional degrees and the quality of the organizations that issue them are still, at times controversial. Because of our many success stories and the quality of our graduates, we at Berkley believe that our institution and several other non-traditional, non-residential or online distance schools are having a strong and influential effect upon the educational community as a whole.

Please understand that University of Berkley awards university level degrees based primarily upon on the evaluation of life experience and previous education both formal and informal. The opportunity for independent work, study, research and documentation of such, is also provided for. All students are required to complete a requisite amount of original work commensurate with the degree they are applying for. This can be work done prior to enrollment with the University of Berkley or after acceptance to a program. Our online University accepts 100% of all transfer credits. We award credits for all relevant life experiences, and ascribe credit to independent study projects (self-taught, guided readings etc.,) as well as all other forms of original work, creations or accomplishments.

Our programs are not designed to meet, any specific local, state, territorial, regional, or national licensing or credentialing laws. Further, being non-traditional in nature, our programs are not designed to meet a particular requirement established by any private association, or "traditional" licensing or accrediting organization.

Although generally our graduates do quite well in the job market and with other schools, the
University of Berkley makes no promises, representations, nor guarantees of employment or acceptability of transfer credits to any public or private educational institution. If you are seeking a University of Berkley degree for a specific licensing, employment or additional educational purpose, we advise you to first check with the association, governmental agency, employer, or specific educational institution to determine the acceptability. Unfortunately, not all of society or its' deeply entrenched traditional institutions are as progressive or responsive as we are.

We encourage you to carefully evaluate us to determine if our programs are for you. If after your evaluation, you agree (as have so many others) that this is the path for you, then don't hesitate, call or go on the web and join us today! Remember:

"What you can do, or dream you can do, begin it! Boldness has genius, power and magic in it."
