Yahoo! PayDirect is a service that lets you send or receive money online from an account you fund with your credit card or checking account. If you sign up for Yahoo! PayDirect, you won't have to mail a check or wait for a check to arrive when using Yahoo! Auctions.
Yahoo! PayDirect lets you:
- Collect money online securely from anyone with an email address.
- Pay for or collect money for auctions.
- Send monetary gifts over the Web.
- Keep detailed billing records for your small business.
It's also much safer than sharing your credit card number with strangers. When you use Yahoo! PayDirect, the other party never sees your credit card information.
To enable PayDirect:
- Click on "Options."
- Click on "Sign up for Yahoo! PayDirect."
- Agree to the Terms of Service.
- Click on the box next to "Enable Yahoo! PayDirect as a payment option for my auctions."
- Click on the "Update" button.
Once you've enabled Yahoo! PayDirect, every auction you submit will indicate that you accept Yahoo! PayDirect as a form of payment.
To request payment after the close of an auction:
- Click on "My Auctions."
- Click on "Sold."
- Click on the auction.
- Click on "Send Bill" in the "Actions/Comments" column
- Fill in the shipping costs and any additional notes, if applicable.
- Click the "Continue" button.
- Review your PayDirect Request, and click on "Send Bill" to send your request. The winning bidder will get an email with your PayDirect request.
- When the bidder pays you through PayDirect, you'll get a email notification. Click on the URL in the email to accept the payment.
If the buyer has a physically verified address, the seller can view the buyer's verified address when the seller receives payment. Here's how:
- Go to Yahoo! PayDirect.
- Click on "Request Money."
- Fill out the form, and click the "yes" radio button next to "Do you want to request a verified address?"
- You'll receive an email notice when payment has been sent. Click on the URL in the email to review the payment. You'll be able to view the physically verified address of the buyer.
Please note: Yahoo! PayDirect is only available to users with a U.S. credit card and U.S. billing addresses.
