Polish
Railways (PKP)
Generally speaking, trains are the most
sought after means of transportation in Poland. Especially Express and IC/EC trains
assure acceptable comfort. They are frequent and fast if you travel between the
bigger cities. If your travel to more laidback areas, be ready for older carriages
and less concern about hygiene. It is not inhuman, but it may be an interesting
provided you have more time for traveling, the trains can be pretty slow. Intercity
trains have moderate prices, slow trains are rather cheap. |  |

Going
by Coach/Bus (PKS)
Yellow coaches POLSKI EXPRESS are
an option to intercity trains. They commute very seldom and are usually slower
than express trains. Nevertheless, in some cases one still can find them convenient.
PKS / PPKS (state-owned companies) run archaic domestic buses (from 1970s-1980s)
and must be used wherever the railway network does not reach or where the trains
are too infrequent and slow. If you decide to explore Poland further, you will
probably use them. The trick is though that few people know at what time they
go and there is no Internet web page to check it. We take all pains and time to
check that out for our guests.
To add, there are many local transport companies.
Information about their schedules cannot be satisfactorily collected, though in
some cases we can give you advice you even about them. |  |
