Spring Break in the Sierras
It is currently snowing and has already dropped 27 inches in Mammoth and 32 inches in June Lake. Think family fun with the weather warm, the air cool, and still a 5-8 base of snow for skiing and boarding. Need to find a Condo? Want to get on a bus trip? Visit the Travel section. Ready to book a trip, visit Book It! Want to find restaurants, activities, nightlife, and non skier activities, look in activities. Need rentals or gear, visit the outfitters section!
Iis not too early to start thinking about summer in the great outdoors. Come on up for Cinco De Mayo (May 5th) and party in Mammoth with many of the local cantinas having bands and celebrations. 4th of July is a big deal with a huge celebrity filled parade, town carnival and fireworks in time to music. Our Jazz Jubilee is just after the 4th and always a sell out. How about we book you a Pack Train Trip via horseback through our "outback" or set you up to go fishing in one of our 100 lakes. Summer is busier than Winter, so start reserving rooms now. If you need help with your trip, visit VIP.
Get your new "ones that gotta way" stories together as Trout Season opens on April 26, 2003. Our Sports Fishing association and our bait and tackle retailers want to welcome you to Mammoth and remind you that you do need a fishing license. Have fun catching your whopper and don't forget to check the activities area for the various derbies for the prizes each month.
Thank goodness for the flakes! With out expected snow XC is still happening. Telemarkers unite! There are still trails open and Dave at Mammoth Mountaineering can get you outfitted. In store sales are happening now so get in to find some deals on this years equipment before we say adios to the season and the gear
If you're heading toward Mammoth to take advantage of the newly fallen powder, Canyon Lodge is hosting Ski Club Appreciation Day and offering free races for whoever wants to take a run. As you need to be in a ski club to do this, if you're not, you don't have to join, but just say you race for Westwood. That club always wins!
