Join the Trust

The key purpose of the Trust is to promote the development of a Bedford & Milton Keynes Waterway which will improve the local environment and the local economy, and provide new leisure opportunities.

	Before joining you may like to see the information about the Trust on our Introducing the Trust page. The Trust was founded in 1994 and you can find out more about its beginings by reading A Brief History of the Trust. Now the Waterway is ‘on the map’, the Trust is seeking: Members, both individuals and organisations who want to show their support and constructively influence the development of the Waterway Volunteers, to help with publicity, talks, representation, fundraising, membership admin and people to help set up local Branches along the route - click here for more details. Creation of 10 local Branches of the Trust

In 2003 we plan to create 10 Branches of the Trust, each covering approx 2km of the chosen Waterway route. The Branches will have a remit to build local awareness and support, and provide a focus for local involvement. Assuming Route 1A is confirmed this spring, the Branches will be:-

• Bedford central
• Queens Park
• Kempston
• Wootton
• Marston Moretaine
• Lidlington
• Brogborough
• Salford/Wavendon
• Broughton/Atterbury
• Milton Keynes central
