NOAA RECOGNIZES 2003 ENVIRONMENTAL HEROES
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration presented its annual Environmental Hero Award to 35 recipients. Held in conjunction with Earth Day celebrations, the award honors NOAA volunteers for their “tireless efforts to preserve and protect our nation's environment.”

NOAA LAUNCHES RE-DESIGNED HOME PAGE — NOAA launched its home page with a new and fresh look. Each year millions of Internet surfers turn to the NOAA home page and its related sites for the latest news from the agency, including weather across the nation. The redesign comes three years after NOAA unveiled a design that proved very popular with surfers on the Web.

NOAA, GSA BREAK GROUND FOR NEW WEATHER SATELLITE CENTER — Ground was broken on the site of a new $61 million NOAA Satellite Operations Center in Suitland, Md.
