Rebuilding Iraq Securing and Reconstructing: President Bush announced that major combat operations in Iraq have ended, and our coalition is now engaged in securing and reconstructing that country. Iraqi Antiquities: New web site provides information and links on broadening efforts to protect, recover, and restore Iraqi cultural property and antiquities.
2002 Patterns of Global Terrorism Report Coordinator for Counterterrorism Cofer Black (Apr. 30): "There were 199 international terrorist attacks during 2002. That represents a significant drop from the previous year -- 44 percent fewer attacks. In fact, it is the lowest level of terrorism in more than 30 years. Curbing the Flow of Illegal Drugs Into the U.S. Working with foreign governments, the Office of Aviation in the Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs helps curb the flow of cocaine into the United States. The office uses an Air Tractor 802 spray airplane, like that pictured at left, to destroy coca leaves.
