Using this website:
At the very top of every page, you will see the five main sections of this site:
Browse, Sell, Learn,
MyPage, and Help.
You are currently in the Help
section. Browsing and Selling
high end audio gear is the focus of this website, and you will spend most of
your time in one of those two areas. If you bid on any auctions, or
list any items for sale, then you should become intimately familiar with MyPage.
It is your central control panel for all of your activities at the Audiogon,
showing you real time details and options.
Signing Up:
The Audiogon is a membership based community of high end audio
enthusiasts. Memberships are completely free and required for most
activities here. We ask for your name, phone number, address, and email
address. We protect all of your information from all third parties, as
described in our privacy policy.
It only takes a few minutes to sign up, and you only have to do it
once.
Sign up now.
Expected Etiquette:
All Audiogon members are
expected to conduct themselves in an honest and civil manner. Members are
allowed to contact each other through our site, and agree to communicate in a
mature and polite manner. Audiogon.com has the option to terminate
memberships in cases of obvious abuse, and we will do so. Persons who do
not wish to follow our rules and guidelines are not welcome here. If you
are a high end audio enthusiast who would like to participate in a well
moderated forum, then we welcome you!

Types of listings
Items listed for sale are being offered by Audiogon members, who consist of
dealers as well as private parties. For sale items are listed in Auctions,
Dealer Demos, and Classifieds, with some minor variations in each of

Help with bidding:
Some of the items listed are being auctioned, where you may place bids.
Bidding on auctions is a binding process, where you are obligated to purchase
the item if you are the high bidder. Please read the more about bidding here:

Making offers:
Some items may be listed as Or Best Offer (obo), where you may make
offers. This is less strictly defined than the auctions, but we offer some
guidelines. If you make an offer, you should be ready to follow through,
if your offer is accepted within 24 hours. Likewise, if you receive an
offer, you should respond within 24 hours. Classifieds ads will indicate
if "OBO", next to the asking price of the item. More

General tips:
When purchasing high end audio equipment, it is the buyer's responsibility to
evaluate the fit and match of an item into their system. If you need
advice or return options, then please contact one of the many fine dealers of
the Audiogon. When purchasing from private parties, buyers are not given
the option of auditioning or returning an item.

How to sell:
The Audiogon lets you choose from several methods to sell your gear. All
of these options are available from the "Sell" link at the top of each
page. You should first decide whether you want to sell to a private party
or a wholesale dealer of used equipment. Selling to a private party will
result in a higher price, but it will take time, effort, and some possible
risks. When selling to one of Audiogon's dealers, you will be able to sell
it easily and very quickly. Also, many Audiogon dealers accept trade ins,
which is an excellent option if your next upgrade is at one of the
dealerships.
If you decide to sell your item yourself,
you should start in our Classifieds, where you may post a 30 day listing.
If you receive and accept an offer in a timely manner, then you have a
sale. Otherwise, if you receive many offers below your asking price, then
consider listing an auction. The auction venue is an excellent tool to let
the interested parties bid against each other, and get you the best possible
market price for your item. Additional tips and information can be found

| The Audiogon is a member
oriented community of audio video enthusiasts who are voluntary
participants. Likewise, Audiogon.com is making this service available as a
voluntary effort to promote and enhance the hobby of high end audio. In
order to maintain an atmosphere of healthy and enjoyable activities, we have
established rules, recommended guidelines, and standardized scales that are to
be common to all transactions.
