OFDA RESPONSE IN ANGOLA

A mother enrolls her child in a USAID/OFDA-supported therapeutic feeding program in Ganda, Benguela Province.

Relief supplies provided by USAID’s Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance and Office of Food for Peace, were critical in supporting the Angolan peace process during the initial period following the signing of the memorandum of understanding, which ended Angola’s 27-year civil war on April 4a, 2002. Throughout the peace process, USAID/OFDA and USAID/FFP have been at the forefront of providing essential humanitarian commodities to affected populations throughout Angola.

HOW CAN I HELP

The most efficient and effective way to help those affected by a disaster overseas is to make a monetary donation to a humanitarian organization that is implementing relief programs in the affected region. There are a few different ways to go about identifying such organizations.
