Peacebuilding and Social Justice

Founded in 1932 as The U.S. Experiment in International Living, World Learning is the only international organization with both academic and project capabilities dedicated to promoting international education, social justice, and world peace. Through distinctive educational methods based on experiential learning and the integration of theory and practice, the programs of World Learning build knowledge, develop leaders in education and management, contribute to global development, and effect change.

World Learning for International Development

World Learning's Washington, D.C.-based field division manages worldwide projects in international education, training and exchange, institutional capacity building, democracy and governance, and societies in transition. World Learning specializes in developing the skills and potential of individuals and institutions.

The School for International Training (SIT)

World Learning's accredited college offers master's degrees, study abroad, extension courses, and educational system reform initiatives, as well as training in conflict transformation and international management. SIT programs emphasize experiential methodologies and create synergies between theory, practice, reflection, and field-based learning.

World Learning for Business

World Learning's business training division offers global enterprises a single source for customized, competency-based language and intercultural training, anywhere in the world. Programs including executive communication coaching, international orientation, and training in all languages are provided on site or in World Learning offices in Vermont, Northern California, Washington, D.C., Houston, and New Delhi, India.

The Experiment in International Living

World Learning's summer exchange program immerses high school students in another culture in one of over 20 countries. Through homestays, language training, community service, peace studies, and ecological projects, these cross-cultural adventures challenge stereotypes, reduce xenophobia, and celebrate diversity.
