I'M BACK! Remember me, Jazz?
I was adopted a few months ago but I'm something
of an escape artist and decided to go on a little adventure
from my new home and lo and behold I ended up in the New Hanover
Animal Rescue facility. Thank goodness my old friends from SOAR
found me and brought me back to SOAR. They want to find a new
home for me and I most certainly do too. I'm very sweet and
adorable and love to be petted and give kisses. I'm young and
need exercise though. Would you play frisbee or fetch with me?

What’s
that you’ve got there? A treat? How about sharing some
with me! My name is Cherry
and I’m a 4-year-old female Hound mix who is great with
people, other dogs and kids. I’m spayed, up to date on
all my vaccinations and I’m extremely sweet. My former
owner was deployed so now I’m homeless. Can you take
me in your heart and home? I’ll bring my stuffed, squeaky
toys. They’re my very favorite things to play with. Other
than you, of course!

We're
Winna, Wispy, and
Widget. We are three
of four siblings who are up for adoption. We are 7-month-old
Lab mixes who were part of an unwanted litter of puppies.
We’re a little shy, but we’re extremely sweet and,
although we’re playful, we’re not high-energy. Come
visit us and our sister Sally. We're all adorable! |

Lily
-- small dog mix (I'm not sure what she is) -- female -- around
1 year old
Lily is a sweet, submissive little girl who is only around 20lbs.
She has the most beautiful long black fur. She loves to be petted.
She was found as a stray with two other dogs in Leland. She's
looking for a forever home where she'll never have to fend for
herself again. |

My name is Oreo and I
am just as sweet as my name suggests! I am a 6-month-old female
Terrier mix who loves to sit in laps and cuddle. I bond very
quickly to people, which is amazing because I was rescued by
the shelter from an abusive home. I don’t hold it against
anyone, however, I just want to love and be loved! I am house-trained,
crate-trained, leash-trained and up to date on every shot. I
weigh only 35 pounds and will probably not get much bigger.
I’m not a high-energy dog either; I’m just content
to stay by your side. The volunteers here have all fallen in
love with me, they say I am a complete and total doll. |

name is Trinity and I’m
part Doberman and part Lab. I am one of the friendliest three-legged
dogs you’ll ever meet. I enjoy being inside and I especially
love to cuddle in bed with you. I know how to sit, lie down
and speak on command. I am very playful despite my handicap
(you see, I haven’t figured out that I’m missing a
leg.) No one is really sure how I lost my leg but they think
maybe it’s because a car hit me. I am a spayed female who
is house-trained, good with kids and I’m on heartworm prevention.
I’d love to go home with you! |

I’m a 2-year-old Lab mix who comes from a broken home.
I’m 80 pounds and I’m house-trained. No accidents
in the house for me! I’m a very sweet and loving girl,
but I would do best in a home with no small animals or children.
That way you and I can get to know each other without any distractions!

Hi,
I’m Maggie! You’d
never know it to look at me but I’m a Lab mix who’s
10-years-old. I’ve been a family dog all my life, but
my folks had a baby and life changed. I started having to
spend a lot of time outdoors. It sure would be nice if I could
go back to being a family dog who stays inside. After all,
I have perfect house manners. I’m housetrained and obedient.
I’m spayed, up to date on all my shots and I love children
and other dogs. I’m a nice small size and only weigh
40 pounds.
Epilogue:
My new parents love me to death but you know what, I love
them more. I'm so happy now. |

Randall
was
abandoned in a Wilmington park with his sister and he would
love to be adopted into a happy, loving family. He has a very
friendly, sweet disposition and loves to play with puppy toys.
I believe he would get along with just about anyone. He sleeps
soundly through the night in a crate with 102.7FM on the radio
and he has already learned "SIT". Please give Randall
the home he so deserves. You'll get lots of love in return.

We are 9 years old and grew up together. We love each other
and theycall us the 'ladies' because we love everyone. We take
care of each other. We do listen and are very gentle. Please

are LT and Wilma.
We have been best buddies for years and years so we must go
to a home together. No one is quite sure how old we are –
let’s just say we’re senior citizens in need of a
loving home environment to which we can retire. We are complete
and total sweethearts who are no trouble at all. We’re
friendly and affectionate and we’d like to trade in shelter
life for a home with folks who love and cherish us. Seniors
like us deserve extra respect and extra love and attention.

I’m one very mellow lady! I’m a 2-year-old Lab mix
who has been spayed, vaccinated and I’m on heartworm

not too rambunctious and excitable. I don’t need a lot
of stimulation - I just need a loving home that contains a
loving family! I get along great with other dogs, too! If

terrific qualities: I'm good on a leash, know basic commands,
am house trained and am on heartworm prevention. My personality
is also a plus - I'm a very sweet girl who loves being touched.
I'm very people-oriented and I love to sit adoringly, gazing
up into someone's kind eyes. I'd sure like to gaze into yours! |

get along well with other dogs. We'd jump for joy if you came

Hi! I’m
Xena, a female Shepherd
mix who’s spayed, up to date on all vaccinations and I
never forget to take my heartworm pill every month! I’m
an extremely affectionate and loving lady, only 2-years-old,
who is great on a leash. A couple of my most favorite things
to do is to splash around in kiddie pools and to squeak, squeak
squeak on squeaky toys! If you want to make me happy, just give
me a simple little toy with one of those squeaky things inside
it. It keeps me busy for hours! I’d like to be the only
dog in the family, please, so that we can focus all our love
on each other! |

Red
is a four year old collie mix. He is wonderful with other dogs
and great on a leash. He ended up at SOAR due to divorce. He
is such a nice size and just loves to be loved. He's not used
to being in a shelter and really would love to be in a home.
He thinks it's awfully noisy there and sometimes that scares
him. He's a quiet, calm dog who just wants a new person so he
can lay at their feet and feel wanted. |

I the cutest thing? My name is Bosco
and I'm a 6-month-old male Lab mix found as a stray. I'm neutered
and up to date on all my shots. I'm a very loving, gentle
boy who loves to play (after all, I'm still just a puppy!).
I'm great with adults, kids and other dogs. I'm lots and lots
of fun and I'm absolutely gorgeous! I'd love for you to come
visit me!

You really need to come see us little girls. We love it when
the volunteers come here and turn us loose to romp and play
in the common area. Pattie, see below, is our kennel mate
and when the four of us get loose it's great fun. We are very

My
name is Rascal. Aren't
I a very good-looking boy? You'll never believe what happened
to me. I was found abandoned and chained to a tree, without
food or water. Luckily, my harsh treatment hasn't affected my
loving personality. I have a very sweet disposition in spite
of the trauma I've experienced. In fact, I wear a gentle smile
on my face almost all the time, and I really know how to smile
when I'm given a treat! I'm 3-years-old, neutered, heartworm
negative and currently on prevention. I'm good with other dogs
and people. I've not yet been around cats, but I've done well
with the children that I've encountered. Come meet me!

it that I've been adopted and my new parents are just waiting
for me to be spayed which will happen this week. I sure hope
this rumor is true. I will make my new family very happy;

Baby, a
sweet, beautiful collie as you can easily see. My
previous owner says that my most endearing quality is my gentle
heart and that I just loved to be petted and walked. I was
named Baby because it was close to Bambi and my owner felt
I ran just like a deer.

the volunteers here I like to jump in my own little private

and I'm a charmer and total lovebug.
At last count I have three volunteers totally smitten. They
made the mistake of putting me in their lap and petting me
and looking into my eyes. They fell totally in love. Why don't
you come here and try the same thing? If you do I believe
the number three will be passe.
