Text-only version
The National Grid for Learning (NGfL) provides an 'on the fly' text-only version of HTML web pages. This makes the site more accessible for a variety of users. In particular, people who use assistive technologies like screen readers and text-to-speech converters will find that these technologies cope much more easily with text-only web pages. The NGfL text-only parser makes various changes to the page before it is passed to the browser, removing images and unnecessary formatting to produce a text version of the page. As this is a server-side process, no changes are made to the actual HTML file.

If you have comments or suggestions about how we could make our sites more accessible please e-mail the NGfL web team.
