Integration & Certification
SAP provides a rich set of integration scenarios that enable third-party vendors to integrate their software with SAP solutions seamlessly. To support successful integration and to ensure quality and customer satisfaction, SAP offers an interface certification program administered through Integration & Certification Centers (ICCs). In addition to certification, ICCs support third-party vendors by offering consulting services and access to test systems.
When third-party software is successfully certified, a company:
- Receives the right to use the SAP tagline "SAP® Certified Integration"
- Receives an SAP Interface Certificate
- Satisfies one of the criteria for becoming an SAP software partner or content partner
- Acquires a listing in the SAP online partner and product directory -- a valuable resource for customers and consequently an opportunity for vendors to market their software
For customers, the advantages of using SAP-certified software include:
- Faster implementation time and lower integration costs through the use of tested interfaces
- Protection for existing investments in SAP solutions, as well as data integrity
- Quick and convenient search for a variety of certified products with the online partner and product directory
Integration Scenarios
SAP-endorsed integration technologies combined with SAP's interface repository offer varied opportunities that enable certification of third-party products, including:

SAP predefined scenarios and certification -- SAP offers well-defined, standard scenarios for third-party integration. For a list of interfaces, documentation, and release information see integration scenarios.

Third-party defined scenarios and certification -- In order to respond quickly to market demands, SAP evaluates and tests integration scenarios developed by third-party vendors. There are two certification options:
- Vendors provide SAP with references from SAP customers, as well as verification that the integration uses SAP-endorsed integration technologies.
- Vendors request an Integration Assessment from an ICC, which leads to additional certification tests. Vendors must provide verification that the integration uses SAP-endorsed integration technologies.

ABAP add-on certification -- SAP certifies third-party applications developed in ABAP through a special certification process that uses the ABAP Add-on Assembly Kit. For more information see ABAP add-ons.
Certification processes for all scenarios require an ICC test day when ICC consultants verify technical requirements and complete the certification process.
