OTHER COOL STUFF
Bandana Maps. Bandana Maps aren't brand new, but
I had never seen them before. They are detailed topographical
maps made onto a cloth that can be used as a bandana or scarf.
They will also be coming out soon with some river specific maps.
Currently they have maps from selected areas in Alaska, Arizona,
California, Canada, Colorado, Idaho, Maine, New Hampshire, New
Mexico, New York, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Oregon, Tennessee,
Texas Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming. Suggested retail
for the cotton 22" x22" is $8.99 and for the microfiber
25" x 25" is only $11.99. So you can wear it around
your head or neck, not worry about it getting wet, and best part
you don't have to figure out how to fold it up.

Coleman. Coleman is almost synonymous with lanterns and
camping stoves. This year they introduced the Coleman Exponent
line of appliances - X-Series stoves, the Xcursion lantern, and
the Outlander series of butane single-burner stoves and unique
lantern. The Outlander stoves and lantern all provide electronic
ignition for match-free lighting, ultra-compact, are lightweight
design, powered by butane-propane blended fuel cartridges and
weigh only 13.6 ounces. The X-series: Xtreme, Xpert and Xpedition
stoves offer all-temperature high performance.
Coleman Exponent also includes liquid fuel appliances in the Apex
II lineup which includes three single burner stoves and a dual-fuel
lantern.
Jeep. Jeep, known for its rugged off road vehicles,
has come out with a line of outdoor items including: sunglasses,
TV's, CD's, Boom Boxes, and bikes. The TV's, CD's, and Boom Boxes
are encased in durable protection boxes with lids and rubber gaskets
to protect from rain or inclement weather. Their bikes are very
rugged looking with a choice of steel or aluminum frames and ranging
from affordable beginner bikes to hi-tech bikes costing up to
$3,000.
Silva Compass. Silva introduced a four in one compass that
has a whistle, compass, thermometer, and a magnifying glass. It
also floats.
First Aid & Medical Kits. Whether you are venturing off for a short hike or for months of trekking, you need to take a first aid kit. Adventure Medical
Kits makes this easy. They offer a wide variety of kits for
almost any situation. What's particularly nice is that it comes
with information on what to do in case of emergencies. Adventure
Medical Kits have special kits designed for daytrips to expeditions,
oriented to a variety of uses including: mountain, paddler, marine,
family, free wheeling and travel series.
Costa Del Mar Eyewear. When you participate in outdoor activities,
you want to choose quality sunglasses. Costa Del Mar, a
company with a full line of quality polarized sunglasses for the
outdoor user, had some new looks and new frames at the show. Known
for their quality glass and lifetime warranty, Costa Del Mar introduced
their new Fathom. The frame is lightweight, securely hugs the
face and is extremely comfortable to wear. It uses an advanced
nylon composite and a hard-pressed etched rubber on the temples
The Fathom's lenses provide 100-percent polarization and 100-percent
protection from ultraviolet radiation. CR-39 or glass lenses are
individually hand-set in the frames and available in six colors.
