HOTEL
LOCATIONS IN KRAKOW
Krakow hotels are densely concentrated primarily about the centre
condisting of the Old Town, Planty and Kazimierz. The fascinating
Cracovian cultural and social life is concentrated in these three
disctricts.
1. Old Town - Krakow has a wonderful old town, preserved
in its mediaeval shape. It bursts with life, colours and music and
it is certainly the location #1 in Krakow. In every street you will
find some splendid hotel, some of them boasting of long-standing
tradition. To add, there are hotels for various budgets and good
hotel apartments.
2.
Planty - Cracovian old town is until now to a great extent encircled
by a fortification wall. Trees were planted around it converting
it into a very pleasant green belt. There are many hotels in this
area or close to the railway station. The whole area has a nice
feel and it is just 1-5 minutes walk to the old town. Considering
lower prices and convenient parking possibilities many people choose
hotels also in this area.
3. Kazimierz is an atmospheric historical area adjacent to
Planty and the Old Town. It starts at the foot of the Wawel Castle
hill. Kazimierz used to be the Jewish Old Town, magical - yet quaint.
Spielberg used the setting for parts of his Oscar-winning movie
Shindlers List. Kazimierz is rather quiet and has very good
hotels plus many amazing pubs.
4. Near City Centre Krakow is pretty safe and you
can still walk well from your hotel to the core of the city. Besides,
some of these hotels are really interesting and several important
sights near the city centre might be missed if you focused only
on the Old town.
5. Outside City Centre It is necessary to take a taxi
to your hotel, but taxis are quite cheap, and journeys short. There
are some highly recommendable hotels off the centre and usually
at attractive prices.
KRAKOW HOTELS MARKET
Though Krakow cannot be underestimated as a commercial town, it
is above all a fantastic place to visit. Mind the season starts
in April and finishes in October. Behind season you are always entitled
to big price reductions and it is hard to choose which hotel you
like best, however when the season reaches its peak, it is difficult
to find accommodation. Krakow is worth visiting all year round,
but if you want to come in the summer, please do reserve rooms in
advance. Our site will be honoured to guide your steps to the right
hotel in Krakow or any other beautiful Polish city.
