McDonald Woods

This rare 100-acre oak woodland is rich with native plant species. While oak woodlands once dotted northeastern Illinois, today only small remnants remain. The Chicago Botanic Garden is working to restore these woods to their pre-settlement condition. Visit our wildflower area and walk our nature trail!

See what's in bloom now.
