Going
away on ski or snowboarding holiday?
All Downhill Without the Right Cover
Skiing
is great fun - but it can be hazardous too. If you
haven't had a spill on the slopes, you must know
someone who has. It's fairly obvious that you are
far more likely to have an accident skiing, or indulging
in some other hazardous sport, than you are relaxing
on a beach reading a book.
As
a consequence most basic travel insurance policies
exclude these activities. If you have annual travel
insurance, for instance, check it carefully - it's
likely that your skiing trip is not covered. It
means that a slippery slope could end up as a real
expense if you do actually have a spill rather than
simply a thrill.
All
Holiday Autos Travel Insurance includes wintersports
insurance free.
You
should make sure you are covered, for example, for
mountain rescue costs in case you need to be brought
off the mountain.Your insurance should also cover
the cost of prepaid expenses such as ski pass and
skis and any expenses incurred as a result of delays
caused by avalanches. This is all in addition to
the standard travel cover you'd expect.
