More info about Hotel Panorama

Hotel Panorama in Venice, ItalyThe Hotel Panorama, from the early ‘900, has offered welcome and hospitality in the very center of the St.Mark’s Basin and the Venetian Lagoon. The Hotel Panorama has been completely renovated in 1999 by the Baldan Family, mantaining its aesthetic integrity but updating the facilities to meet the needs of our discerning clientele, and is expecially designed for those who search for that special something that makes a Hotel look like a private Home; the 19 rooms, all with ensuite bathroom, most with a breathtaking view to the Lagoon and Venice, are bright and comfortable, and feature air conditioning, central heating, direct dialling telephone with easy internet access, minibar, TV set with satellite reception, safety deposit box and a hairdryer. The Hotel Panorama is centrally located in Piazzale Santa Maria Elisabetta, on the waterfront, just in front of the Public Boats departures to Venice, this means that it only takes 12 minutes to reach St.Mark’s Square, day and night; while the golden sandy beach of Lido, celebrated by Thomas Mann in “Death in Venice” is only 500 meters away. The Hotel Panorama has easy access whether from the Airport (Shuttle AliLaguna from Marco Polo Airport to Lido), or from Train Station (ACTV Line # 51 from Santa Lucia Train Station to Lido); Clients can reach the Hotel directly by car using the ACTV FERRIES connecting Lido to Tronchetto Island every 50 minutes; the Hotel has own private parking, covered garage is available nearby on request at resonable prices.

How to reach the Hotel Panorama when :

· Arriving by air at the VCE ‘Marco Polo’ Airport, you can choose either to reach Lido island and the hotel, simply by asking for the shuttle connecting boat - called ALILAGUNA - departing as from 09:05 am until 00.05 am– every hour at 5 minutes past. A 55 minutes ride through the venetian lagune will drop you off at Lido pier, just few steps away (to the left) from the ‘Panorama’. Riding fare is 10.00 €uro per person.
· Alternatively –much more comfortable but a little more expensive (approx 80.00 €uro - depending on the luggage and nr of persons), you can hire a water taxi that within 20/25 minutes, will take you across the entrance of the hotel. (Pls tell the driver to stop at the ESSO gas station, but they know us).

· Arriving by air with Ryan Air at TSF “Treviso Airport”, take the EuroBus Shuttle to Venice Piazzale Roma, then public WaterBus ACTV Line # 51 or # 61 to Lido and getting off the boat, the hotel is right in front of You ! (boat riding fare 3.10 €uro per person)

· By train : getting off at Santa Lucia (Venice main station) you have a wide choice.
· Best of all is boat line # 51 directed to Lido, that after a panoramic ride through small canals and across St. Marks Bassin, with a view of the center of the town, in 35/40 minutes will end its ride at Lido pier, just in front of the Panorama Hotel. Boats are not too wide, so you will have to handle either with restricted space for the luggage and with the.. crowd.
· The ticket costs presently €uro 3,10 each person. Luggage exceding 50 cm can be subject to same fare. Buy the ticket/s before boarding, if possible. Consider also the possibility of purchasing eventually a 72 hours Tourist Ticket, cost 18.08 €uro, or a Week Pass, cost 30.99 €uro.
· Alternatively on boat lines, you have #1 (very slow and docking everywhere along the Grand Canal until Lido as last stop – 1 hour ride) or Line # 82 a little faster (only in summertime), stopping merely at important and lesser stations along the Grand Canal (40 minutes ride). Be sure to ask if it is directed to Lido, as ending station.

· You are arriving by car ?
· No matter from which direction, follow all the blu signs to Venezia or to Piazzale Roma (P.Roma). Before getting there, after driving through the Ponte della Libertà (Liberty Bridge) with train traks at your left and water on both sides, you will approach the one and only traffic light – with directions to Tronchetto and/or to the ferry boat service to Lido. Turn right and follow signs to board it. Departures are every 50 minutes : within 35 minutes ride through the Lagune you will be at Lido island. Getting off the ferry – looking to your right you will notice a dome, with its ‘cupola’ along the water side : we are across the ESSO gas station, soon after this. Our little parking lot will keep your car - as long as you stay with us – at no cost. Please advise before your arrival date, so we can save you a space as places are limited. A guarded garage is nearby, with a modest daily cost.
