The Humane Society is a charitable, non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of homeless and unwanted animals in our community. Since we are a private organization and receive no funds from the county, we must rely on public support.
The shelter can house approximately 16-20 dogs and about 20 cats. These orphans are frightened and alone in a strange place despite the best efforts to comfort them. Because of limited resources, these loving animals have to be euthanized if they have not been adopted after a certain period of time.
Animals at the shelter are never given up for research purposes.
The shelter is operated with a staff of one full-time manager, two part-time assistants, and a group of volunteers to perform the daily tasks involved in the care of our many orphans. There is a constant need for reliable and compassionate helpers. Without them, we could not exist.
We invite you to visit the shelter and get to know us. We encourage the community's involvement and welcome all who share our concern to join in our efforts to help those who cannot help themselves.
