Introduction
The Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) provides
a broad array of health and human services to the people of Alaska through
grants to non-profit
service agencies, municipalities and native entities. More than 75 grant
programs encompass a spectrum of services provided by these agencies: from
alcohol treatment
to delinquency prevention and youth courts, and from adoption support to
tuberculosis testing and treatment. DHSS has a firm commitment to the delivery
of responsive
and efficient community-based services.
Grants are awarded through a selection
process designed to offer fair and equitable access to all eligible applicants
seeking grants; and to purchase services that have been determined to be
in the best interest of the people of the State of Alaska. On this site you
will
find
information intended to assist all who are interested in DHSS grants and
the services they support.
