Augusta Canal: Constructed in 1845 the Augusta Canal along the Savannah River in Augusta, Georgia, survives as one of the most intact canal systems in the United States
Blackstone Canal Conservancy: The forty-five mile long Blackstone Canal was opened in 1828 connecting Worcester, Massachusetts to Providence, Rhode Island.

Chespeake and Ohio Canal: The C & O Canal is a 184 mile long National Historical Park. It begins in Washington, D.C. and follows the Potomac River to Cumberland, Maryland.
D & H Canal Historical Society: The purpose of the Society is to preserve, protect and perpetuate the unique history of the Delaware and Hudson Canal.
The Delaware and Hudson Canal: Constructed from 1825 to 1829 the canal had 108 locks in over a 108-miles. A National Parks website.

Houseboat Magazine: This site is a general American houseboating site, including waterways and lakes and boats. It's the on-line equivelant of Houseboat Magazine. The site is updated weekly.
The Illinois & Michigan Canal Corridor: The opening of the Illinois and Michigan Canal in 1848 gave a 97-mile link from the Great Lakes to the Illinois and Mississippi rivers.
Lehigh River & Canal at Jim Thorpe, Pa: Information on the river, canal and history surrounding the town of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania.
Muscle Shoals Canal: In 1836 the Muscle Shoals Canal was built around the dangerous stretches of the Tennessee River by the State of Alabama with help from the Federal government.
National Canal Museum: Based at Easton, Philadelphia, USA covers the Delaware Canal, Lehigh Navigation and Morris Canal.
The New York State Canal System: This is the official site of New York State Canal System which is operated and maintained by the New York State Canal Corporation.
New York's Oldest Canal: In 1730, a small cut was excavated across a narrow neck of land in a meander of the Mohawk. This was the first artificial channel for navigation created in what would become New York State.
The Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail: This multi-purpose trail was developed by the National Park Service and is the major trail through Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
The Old Middlesex Canal: The canal ran from Lowell Massachusetts to Boston during the first half of the nineteenth century.
The Panama Canal Society of Florida: Members of the Panama Canal Society have banded together, starting in 1932, to remember the great days of working on the Panama Canal.

The Schuylkill Canal: The Unofficial Schuylkill Canal website with information on the navigation system running along the Schuylkill River.
