Chapungu Storytelling Weekend

Throughout a Chapungu Storytelling Weekend, acclaimed storytellers will present tales from Africa and stories based on the themes of the Chapungu exhibit—family, love, nature and spirit.

A featured storyteller is Linda Gorham, who will appear on Sunday, August 3, at 1 and 2 p.m. Co-chair of this year's National Storytelling Conference , Ms. Gorham tells folktales, fables, hero stories and, "of course, stories that make your spine tingle and your hair stand on edge."

Chapungu Dance Performance

DanceAfrica will present a preview of “Freedom!” at the Garden on October 12. The Garden performance offers a taste of the dance musical exploring African-inspired dance that will be presented October 17 to 19 at the Chicago Theatre.
