Angling
Mark
Querrin Pier is
approximately 3 kms to the west of Poulnasherry Bay. This is a
sandy inlet with a long raised bank on the seaward side. There is
a choice of fishing spots here. Fishing off the small pier using
lugworm, crab and sandeel produces flounder and occasional bass
with the last two hours of the flood being the best period.
Bottom fishing can be carried out at all stages of the tide on
the eastern side of the spit of land where anglers will catch
flounder, dogfish and occasional bass.
Bait
Lugworm may be dug
in the sandy/muddy channel beside Querrin pier. The lug beds are
confined to a small area on either side of the channel. Some soft
peeler crab can be collected under the weed to the right of the
small pier. There is no problem with access and parking is
adjacent to the pier.
